**official face reveal!**

hello everybody! good morning, afternoon, or evening!! i hope you're doing well on this fine thursday <3

i've been really procrastinating today,, i feel so guilty but i only have one assignment due tomorrow that lowkey would take me 20 minutes to do so we're good!

grades (but actually grade boundaries)

due to covid-19, many of our second term tests were postponed and cancelled, so instead of getting summative grades in our reports, we received our gcse indicator bands. these are grade bands decided by our teachers which are based off our effort, tests (if they've been done), homework, and participation in class. if you're unaware of the gcse system, we have a 9-1 grading system, where 9/8 = A**, 7 = A, 6 = B, 5/4 = C () and it goes down until 1 = G and U = U lmao

i'm currently in year 10, so these grades will probably go up/change for when i do my year 11 mocks in the coming year, but without further ado, here's what i have at the moment.

first of all, my current subjects are english lang + lit, math and triple science which were cores. for my four chosen subjects, i chose fine art, drama, geography and german.

now onto the grades! (and effort grades if you're interested)

english lang + lit ʕ⁎̯͡⁎ʔ༄

for english lang, i was in the 5-6 band. as much as i am not at all proud of this, i have improved over the last year, and i think i can get better. effort = 5/6

for english lit, i was in the 7-9 band. what can i say? they think i can get an A in english and i'm chuffed honestly. effort = 6/6

mathematics ʕ⁎̯͡⁎ʔ༄

for math i got 7-9?? im so?? happy?? especially with how bad i am at math. i got like 57% on the test,, and i'm in top set so i lowkey got the lowest in the class. i'm so happy my teacher believes in me she's honestly super pog and i love her. effort = 4/6

sciences ʕ⁎̯͡⁎ʔ༄

for biolololology i got 7-9. again, why all the As? i'm honestly so proud of this. effort = 4/6

for chemistry i got a 5-6. i was really upset about this,, especially with how good i was in chemistry during year nine. i was way in the 80%s in year nine so i don't know what happened honestly. i'll probably try to improve since our next summative assessment is in march/april? pls comment tips on studying im literally crying. effort = 4/6

PHYSICS!! i love this subject and i got a 7-9. as much as i would've preferred an 8-9, i'm so happy with this grade, and i'll continue improving in phys! effort = 4/6

fine art, aka my biggest regret ʕ⁎̯͡⁎ʔ༄

don't take fine art for gcses it rids you of your sanity.

i got 7-9 though, which i will take happily <3

i did get 7c (like a low 7 in a gcse mark scheme) for my last drawing piece which i'm stoked about but ofc i can do better yet i hate art so much i don't wanna put it in effort. effort = 5/6 (somehow??)

drama ʕ⁎̯͡⁎ʔ༄

7-9. honestly, expected. i had to really like :chart_with_upwards_trend: :chart_with_upwards_trend: :chart_with_upwards_trend: in writing in the past few weeks or i probably would've gotten a 5-6. i got 10/12 in my recent writing, which i'm happy with, i got a 14/20 (again, gcse mark scheme) in my monologue, and a 2 or 3/4 in the 4 marker and honestly, i'm so happy with all of this especially since the writing was just thrown at us a few months ago like where did it come from lmao. effort = 5/6

gerrrrman or deutsch ʕ⁎̯͡⁎ʔ༄

ich spreche deutsch absOLUTELY TERRIBLY! so im so happy i got 7-9,, i'm planning on making journal spreads in german to get used to the nominative, dative and accusative cases. effort = 5/6 (how?? i talk all the time lmao)

GEOGRAPHY!!! (￣∇￣)

i absolutely love this subject. it's my favourite. something about learning about the earth, and how it works really astonishes me. though i only got 71 on the test (it will haunt me forever) i got an 8-9! i'm super happy with this,, i will actually cry of happiness i know it was the only 8-9 but that's like guaranteed A* pls i'm so happy pls

effort = 5/6 (idk how again?? i was caught on my phone by the teacher)

actually,, talking about the teacher,, hes actually really nice except saying that none of my chosen subjects were academic as a joke >.<

he's so nice and is still your friend even after he sanctions you!! he's a genuine lad you guys need a teacher like him honestly

except when he's angry.

i'm really proud of this spread, this has been the first time that i've actually stepped out of my comfort zone and created something that truly resembles me, rather than just copying other studytubers or aesthetictubers because i want to replicate their style. in the future i hope to continue journalling, it's just so fun and therapeutic and aaaaa

ABOUT THE EFFORT GRADES >>>

the effort grades are marked out of 6,, 6 being optimum effort, with an exemplary approach to learning,, exceeding all the teacher's expectations.

a 4 is what the teachers expect most students to get. a lot of effort, consistent punctuality and work is always in on time, etc. if you get under a 4 in anything it's concerning,, so i'm happy i got 4+ in everything.

5 is the marriage of 4 + 6 (4x6 ship??) and it's somewhat rare.

6 is really hard to get though.
