Hey, everybody!

A new #StudySpace challenge has appeared, and considering I was already deabting posting how I reorganised my desk these holidays, here I am participating in another Challenge!

Here's a basic glance at how my desk looked before I reorganised it:

As you can tell, it's a bit messy...

•The coffee I was drinking that morning

•An empty Pocky wrapper

•Paint bottles. Everywhere.

•My paint palette

•Alcohol markers

•A bottle of glue

•Papers. Everywhere.

I'm not good at being organised, can you tell?

Now, the shelves:

They were... better ! I don't dump stuff on the shelves, so they stay more organised. Usually. I also put anything to personalise my study space up there - the first letter of my real name, a ray gun I made of polystyrene for a cosplay, my Party Poison figure, a merlion. And all textbooks.

First things first, anything on my desk that didn't belong. Wrappers, art supplies... that sort of thing:

Okay, that's a little better. My paper holder is too small and I have trouble finding smaller papers for readings but that will be fixed. Later. For now, every piece of paper is in the one document holder.

I mentioned that this wasn't working.... and yes, that's an extra folder in there.

Since I took the holidays between two semesters to do this, I had to change the pens on my desk. New classes = new colour coded pens for the classes. Well, not new-new, but different.

Now, a trip to the stationery store. I brought myself not one, but two document holders to properly organise paper for me to write on. Rose gold because... what can I say, it's my favourite colour?

I also went through all the papers. What was old paper from prac that I didn't need? What was old notes that needed to be PUT AWAY? In the end, only blank writing paper remained. And a little sheet I have to trace little designs for my bullet journal - sometimes a sheet of shrink plastic too, if I'm trying to work on making a keying...

So, now that my desk has been redone... let's see how it turned out.

Here's the desk itself. Not much on the desk, as you can see. The plastic mat I keep on there for when I'm painting, etc. Stops me getting paint on my desk. But you can see from this that the document holders are... better for my situation. Since workshops, lectures etc are written different paper from my readings, I got two document holders for the two types of paper so that I can easily find what I need.

The earphones on top of my bullet journal are what I need to use for Studying. Thanks to a helix piercing that's still healing, I can't use over-ear headphones right now.

My shelves haven't changed too much here. New textbooks have been put in place of the old ones, I also brought a new Black Parade Gerard Way figure that you'll see next to the gun. The shelves weren't really something that needed changing here. It's still the place that lets who I am and my interests into my study space.

Now, a few questions for the challenge element of this.

What role does each area of your study space play?

I've mostly covered this, but the desk itself holds the most important items for studying - pens for that semester's classes and paper. Of course, my laptop would also be there if I needed to use that.

The shelves hold a variety of pens that aren't used on a daily basis, all my textbooks, folders for class readings, notes and loose papers. As well as a few things already mentioned to add in my own interests to the space so that I enjoy being there.

Are there any considerations into what materials are on your desk?

Anything on my desk is the most important things I use. I need to be able to reach them easily since it's a little harder to reach the shelves. The lower down something is, the more likely I am to use it.

Does your study space hold any significance?

Not particularly? I only chose the space because it was the only space available when we moved to this appartement, since mum needed the proper study room. Anyway, I think I've managed to make the space work for me. When I do study at home, the desk and shelves gives me everything I need. It's nice to have that space I can make my own.

Ignoring that due to loud noises and distractions I tend to prefer Studying in a café. My desk works when I am able to study at home.
