A quick overview of all the apps that will be mentioned in the post:

1 Quizlet

Quizlet is really popular so I’m not going to say much about it but it’s basically a flash card that allows you to not only make your own flash cards, but make your own as well. You can study them as flash cards or with mini games.

2 Agenda

Agenda’s name is pretty self-explanatory. It a planner app that allows you to make reminders and check-lists. It’s really helpful, especially if you don’t already have any type of physical planner.

3 Socratic

Socratic is an app that lets you scan your math or science problems and shows you the answer and how to solve them from multiple sources.

4 TinyCards

This app is very similar to Quizlet, but the flash cards are much more customizable and fun to study with. You can make decks and view other people’s. If you use DuoLingo, you can find cards that go with whatever part of a language you’re working on since it’s by the same people.

5 Hoopla

Hoopla is an online library app. You just have to set up an with your library card and email and can borrow e-book, audio books, music, and movies.

6 Forest

This app is also very popular. You can choose a set amount of time you’d like to stay off of your phone and once you start the timer, the app plants a virtual bush or tree, depending on how long you set the timer for. If you leave the app before the timer ends, you kill your plant. If you don’t, it’ll be added to you garden, which you can view whenever you’d like. Your garden shows how many trees/ bushes you’ve planted, how long you stayed off you phone to plant them, and if they’re dead or not.

7 Encode

This app is great if you’re trying to learn how to code. It has different courses you can take and tells you what certain commands mean, then allows you to try it yourself. You must get the trials correct to continue.

8 Merriam-Webster Dictionary

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary is personally one of my favorite Dictionary apps because of how well the words are explained, the daily words, etc. but any other dictionary app would work as well.

9 Google Drive

If you do anything online for school, work, or anywhere else you may need you files for later, I recommend Google Drive. Files are accidentally deleted or misplaced all the time and you want to always have a backup and be able to access them anywhere.

1 eBook Search

eBook Search is a great app for finding your next favorite book and has a section of thousands of free books. Useful for finding books you have to read for school for cheap or free, especially classics.

2 Keynote

Many schools have their student make slideshows for a myriad of reasons and Keynote is one of the most flexible and easy to use slideshow apps on the App Store. It’s also by Apple so you can easily export it to other apps and import files from other apps to it.

3 Slader

If the problem is from a textbook and you’re really struggling on that one math problem and can’t find any tutorials on how to do it online or your friends can’t help you, then Slader can. All you have to do is Search your textbook, select the right chapter and problem, and viola! It shows you how to solve the problem and the final answer. I believe it works for science as well.

4 Plagiarism

This app allows you to type or paste as many words as you’d like and once your finished, it’ll check and tell you if any of it is plagiarized and if it is, will give you links to find where it was originally from.

5 CamScanner

CamScanner is a scanner app. All you do is get whatever you’re trying to scan, take a photo of it through the app, and you can use the preset setting or make your own. When you’re finished, it’ll put the document in a folder. You can put more in that folder or make new ones for unrelated documents.

6 Duolingo

I assume you’re familiar with this app already but if not, Duolingo is a language learning app that teaches you how by having you type, say, translate words after listening to them, etc. It has really positive reviews and undeniably amazing results. I can tell you this first hand because in a year, I’ve become almost fluent in Russian and I actually first learned about this app through one of my friends that learned to read and write Japanese fluently with it

7 Evernote

Evernote is an app that allows you to type up or write notes on it and then put them into folders to keep track of them and keep the organized. What’s especially so great about it is that after you save them, they’re automatically saved on your so you can access them no matter what device you’re using. Evernote is also available online and as an app for Macs, PCs, most laptops, and most iOS and android devices.

8 Tubex

This app isn’t fad school related as the others mentioned on the list, but can be super helpful if you like to listen to music while you study or work. It allows you to listen to music from YouTube while you’re outside of the app. Because of this, you can work on stuff on your phone but don’t have to stop listening to music on it. It’s free, too!

9 Free GaCalc

Free GaCalc is a free graphing calculator app. If you ever forget to bring your physical one to school, this app could be a grade saver.
