i use all three. my binder is used for general things like folder paper, printer paper, i keep post-it’s in a binder pencil case so i don’t lose them and it stays neat. i have folders for every one of my classes that distribute homework and handouts, so when we get homework i put it in the folder and review when i get home and then turn in stuff from my folder also. my notebook sometimes stays in the classroom or goes home with me (depending on the subject) and i write all my notes in there
I do both binders and folders. If you have hw from x class, you can take out the papers you need and put them in a folder to take home instead of taking the whole binder. But if these notes are something you think are going to be important for long I recommend a notebook with a hard cover so it is harder for the paper to rip out.
Also, if you are using a notebook and get a handout what I like to do is to have one folder for each class that I don’t use a binder. So I have somewhere to put it since three hole punching is not an option.
One binder with dividers can go a long way. They are more durable and easier to flip through.

Especially the stress on your back if you carry them in your backpack, it just gets to much, same with carrying them on your arms

I just use notebooks for school and if I get handouts I put them in my notebook binder hybrid, and once the term is done I put them in my big binder that I keep at home, you just have to find out what preference fits you!
