The Sound Of The Priestess

At first I didn’t know any song that reminded me of the High Priestess, as she is so mystical, so otherworldly and so clear yet so hidden, that I had no song worthy of her comparison. At least not at first. I brushed the Priestess away and ignored her altogether, and that’s when the song suddenly crossed my mind. It was so obvious! Why had I not thought about this song until now? But that was the High Priestess-way, because the song was buried deep in my memory and needed to come forth on its own. This song is one of the most beautiful songs that I know about, and you know us Norwegians and our violins; we trollbinder people with it 🤤 This one really touches my soul on a whole other level, and I’m sure you can hear why I chose this to represent the Priestess.

If I am translating this to

english it becomes roughly:

let the day get its rest now;

the night will watch over it

even the dark must perish once

so the night can birth a new day

Now if that isn’t the High Priestess then I don’t know what is! It is such a breathtaking song, and I think it represents the Priestess well. The fact that there is nearly no lyrics is very Priestess to me, as it’s clear and to the point while remaining mysterious and alluring. To me the Priestess isn’t representing a person, at least not when just studying the card instead of reading it. The High Priestess is a force you can never grasp, because she lives with no bounds, she lives in no one and everyone at the same time, and sometimes you can experience her when her energies flies through you or past you.

The High Priestess is when you’re walking in a forest in the early morning, and it’s when you reach a clearing and can see the sunrays shining through the roof of the tall and mighty trees. It is when you suddenly notice a shift, and every bird falls silent. The wind stops blowing and there is no sound to be heard at all, until suddenly a branch snaps somewhere in front of you and you are lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time. The world has given you the honour of witnessing magic, a magnificent stag is stepping out of the shadows and looking straight at you. Your eyes meet and you can see his soul, the way he sees yours. Together you create a spark of mutual connection, and you tear up because it moves you so intensely. It only last for a short while, but the entire world stands still and the experience will leave a mark deep in your bones, and you will that connection, forever.

The Priestess is the magic that the

entire universe is embraced by.
