I wanted to get everyone's opinion on when the sabbats should be celebrated in the southern hemisphere. I know there is still a debate going on if we should celebrate with the seasons or with the calendar dates (same as northern hemisphere). Personally I celebrate with the seasons but I would love to know people's opinions.

The celebrations are based on the seasons.
I mean, if you want to welcome the longest night of the year during the longest day of the year, or the start of winter while you’re boiling in the summer heat, go ahead, but the cognitive dissonance in that logic is only going to make any meaningful connection to nature harder.
That's the reason personally I celebrate with the seasons but some people argue we should stick to the set dates. I'm just curious to learn people's opinions.

I find people who cling to when the British dictated seasonal celebrations should be in the Southern Hemisphere either a) don’t get the seasonal aspect or b) are far too desperate to cling to a British colonial ideology instead of actively working with nature.
No, I will not apologise for that statement.

To me it's always made sense to go with the seasons. I get it's easier to keeps northern dates but it's not that hard to find the southern dates either.
