t᥆ριᥴ: identity theft & impersonation
before i start off this blog, more of
a psa than anything. i would just
like to mention that this post is not
meant to attack anyone. it is
however a post to bring awareness
to this particular issue. please
take the time to read this if you have
a few minutes to spare. i just want
to bring this to the light as an
editor who has experienced this
myself and from words of others.
if you can share this to others and
get the word out it would also be
appreciated.
please do not copy, repost or steal
my work. all edits, aesthetics do
belong to me.
thank you.

𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢. a topic that has been
addressed one too many times.
especially in a community such as
this one, you would think people
would be more creative. yet people
continue to steal and repost work as
if it was their own.
if you aren’t aware of what
plagiarism is, it is:

now that you know what plagiarism
is, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭. it is both
harmful for the creator and yourself.
these creators spend a lot of time
and effort to putting out work of
theirs for others to enjoy. that is
something we should be grateful for
and definitely not something to
destroy.
i know many creators of which,
stopped editing due to the amount
of times their work was plagiarized.
it is disrespectful to the creator who
created it and it is not your work to
claim. 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐬. if you are
unsure of how to give credit to a
particular creator check out this link.
however, considering that there are
many blogs on plagiarism, it won’t be
my focus. if you need more information
on plagiarism and how to avoid it
you can check these two links :
[𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 | 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬|http://aminoapps.descargarjuegos.org/p/9x4a7t]
well researched blog on plagiarism,
has many resources on avoiding
plagiarism so please check it out
if you have the time to do so.

these are the rules, what better way
to avoid plagiarism than by checking
the rules. has a few tips to follow.

before i go into the topic in itself,
i think we need to better understand
the word:

now this definition may have some
people confused as to why this
may be important.
although rare, it does happen. and it
seems to occur due to communities
who have such giving creators.
in that process, the time and effort
taken to produce work has been
taken for granted.

an instance of impersonation would
be if you saw a person with all your
edits, themes, watermarks, and alias
claiming the work to be theirs.
completely copying your profile, with
no variation or manipulation but
pretending to be you. for various
reasons such as :
- the watermark on the edit has
the editors name, so they take the
editors name as their alias.
- maybe the edit is made for a specific
person with a particular name, in
order to use the edit, they need the
same name.
in the end, it may lead to other
assuming the work is the
impersonator’s rather than the
original creator.
often times, you may spot this as
a member reposting another
work, in another community
with the same alias.
this can lead to many
misunderstandings of which, the
creators credits are being transferred
to an imposter. and sometimes due
to this “stolen identity” us creators
face an issue where maybe our
reputations are being tarnished.

and i really don’t mean this in a
snobby way whatsoever. but, as an
editor myself i try to be helpful and
be as nice as i can to those who
come ask me for help. and due to
an imposter, and having a supposedly
negative interaction with someone
who seems like me but isn’t me
can be very misleading in the future if
i was to interact with that person.
surely, amino is huge. there is a
chance that may not occur but why
should there be one in the first place?
please avoid it if you can. and if you
do suspect someone is impersonating
an editor or another person please
report it to an authoritative member
and the person you think they’re
impersonating. it would be of great
help to us creators, in the given future.

let’s try our best to avoid having
issues like these be the reason for
editors to stop editing. our community
needs our creators to keep creating.
and issues like these will be of no
help. at all.
i hope this post has helped to bring
some awareness in the community.

thank you for reading
my blog and sticking around
to the end. have a good day.
all edits in this blog belong
to me. please don’t copy,
repost or steal.
