Why does half of the CC fandom always demonize Nurf as abusive?

Like, it mostly happens with MaxPres, I have nothing against this ship, but they always feel the need to mischaracterize a character in order for ship to happen, I see that in most CC fanfics that involve MaxPres or any ship that involves Preston, I'm sick and tired of it, at this point, they just hate Nurf for everything he does, he doesn't do anything that's causing trouble or bullying, he gets hated on, if he breaths, he gets hated on, and I don't understand how Nurf gets more hate than Daniel (Daniel is a great villain) and Edward, and Daniel is a literal cultist that tried to poison and sacrifice children to a non existent God, Xemug, and Edward is a canonical sex pervert who's creepy towards Gwen, someone who's 12 years older than him, Nurf is the most underrated, overhated, and misunderstood CC character, if you're not a Nurf fan, that's completely fine, but don't mischaracterize him into something he's not, especially abusive, especially towards Preston, yes, he does bully others, there are times when Nurf is being nice, like throwing snowballs at naughty kids, because like Nikki, he thought Santa was real, etc. They need to realize that Nurf is sometimes nice in his own way.
