This update is specifically about AUs under the special exceptions category in the [Guidelines]. These AUs include mainly Flowerfell and Dusttale.

As we began to make exceptions and tweak our rules to fit the wishes of AU creators, more and more people wanted us to add their au that they didn't want roleplayed or content created of in the guidelines. It began to get tedious and aggrivated some of you with more and more restrictions.

When discussing, a few good points were brought up on both sides. Here are a couple of points brought up, along with the claim brought up against the points:

☆People put time and effort into creating their AU's content, plot and reputation. If they want us to do something for them, we should do it.

Counterclaim: Once you something onto the internet, it's there for good. Almost everyone is warned of this more than once in school and to be cautious with what you do on the internet. We will not allow people to claim anything just as we have before, so false claiming such as what happened with Flowerfell will most likely not happen again.

☆People ruin the image that creators make for their AUs with roleplaying the wrong way and claiming their content. They should be respected if they want us to stop.

Counterclaim: Once again, once people something to the internet, it is there for anyone to use. We cannot completely stop people from wanting to use a character from the AU that they adore. However we can still create posts with information from the original creator to remind people of how the character really acts (*cof* Paperjam) or how the au is actually meant to be (*cof cof* Dusttale).

Under the claim that once something is posted, it's posted, still does mean credit for images.

You still have to credit art. But theft of anything which also includes AUs as well as art is not tolerated. By stealing AUs, we mean the plotline/character development/general information. This does not include AU names. The name hasn't been copyrighted (unless they have proof they did, which requires legal paperwork) and can be shared amongst s.

Flowerfell

Flowerfell is an au originally created by Siviosanei. However, due to people constantly claiming their au plot and idea, they deleted everything off their blog, shut down the au, and requested that no one create content of Flowerfell ever again.

Most people perceive it to be a Frans (Frisk x Sans ship) au, however it was not made for this purpose.

According to the Flowerfell information gathered by Raven, Flowerfell is an alternate version of Underfell where Frisk grows a flower on their body everytime they are killed. Throughout their journey, Sans antagonizes them the most, generally killing them himself or guiding them to his brother to be terminated.

However, no matter how many times he ruthlessly killed them, they never struck back. They never let their kindness waver in the face of certain death and the endless loop of flowers.

This greatly impresses Sans, which results in him dedicating his time to helping them through his violent home. They died many times through the Underground. It got to a point where they couldn't talk or see, and had to use sign language to communicate with Sans. Eventually they could not walk on their own anymore, resorting to have Sans carry them the rest of the way.

In the end, they died too many times to the point where they didn't want to live their life above ground if they couldn't walk or see. They requested that Sans use their soul to break the barrier, and set everyone free.

Dusttale

Dusttale is an au where Sans aquired Determination and began to see each reset the Human made. This began his goal to kill them over and over until they gave up, however the amount of Determination he had was no match for the merciless human. Their L.O.V.E. was far greater

To boost his LV so he could face them head on, Sans decided to sacrifice other Monsters for what he believed was the greater good. This takes a toll as he feels extreme guilt and tries to lull it away with the thought that they will be fine once the Human resets. His guilt of killing Papyrus leads to a hallucination of his brother following him

Eventually as resets went on, and his LV would return to 1, his purpose wavered, and he started to lose himself. His goal to kill the Human for good and end the resets changed to endless killing for the game.

He has a fear of death due to thinking that once he dies and the human resets, he will be weak to genocide once more.

Another common mistake is calling the Sans of this au "Dust!Sans". The official names are "Murder!Sans" and "Phantom!Papyrus". There is also no "Dust!Frisk" or Chara. They are always simply referred to as the Human.

Paperjam

A common misinterpretation s have about this character is thinking he is a ship child of Error and Ink. This however is not true.

He is a creation of the fragments Ink and Error left during their battles, including Ink's Ink and Error's strings.

People tend to draw him or perceive him to be happy and upbeat. His true attitude according to the creator is quite the opposite actually. He was more hopeful when Ink first started showing him around, and introducing him to AUs. However, over time PJ began to see the pattern of Ink's sporadic attention span, as Ink showed less and less attention or interest in PaperJam. Eventually he left on his own to find his purpose

The Antivoid shapes itself to fit the person wandering. As Error has his expanse of white and strings, and Ink with his Doodle Sphere, PaperJam noticed as the area he explored began to slowly shift and change to suit him. His area is a wide maze full of paintings on walls of white that no one could hope to navigate

There were great points brought up for both arguments, however in the end we decided to stop (for the most part) prohibiting AUs because creators didn't quite like what happened to them. Just as celebrities are famous, they still get visualized in ways they might not like. Same for the s here

In the end, we can't make everyone happy. However, we hope this will appeal to the larger audience
