Appearance

Anubis is a 5 foot 11 skeleton with a glitchy appearance. His left eye is glitching and melting which has caused him many problems in vision and cognitive function. His eyes are usually a plain glowing white color but when angered, they will turn a bright red, sometimes with a mix of deep blue. His knuckles have small spiky caps on them and his fingers end in pointed claws. His eyes and mouth will sometimes start to bleed due to the instability of his soul.

His main choice of clothing is a dark gray and red Reaper cloak. On his shoulders, he wears a large scarf which doubles as a scythe and hood. On the front center of his hood is a small pin that looks like the front view of a gaster blaster. A rope is tied around his waste to keep his cloak from sliding too much. There are 2 large rips in the front of his cloak which he got after a fight with nightmare. Under his cloak he wears some long dark gray sweats which are frayed at the bottom. He never wears shoes, as they make his feet uncomfortable.

Abilities/weapons

Deterioration

Whatever living things he touches with his hands or feet, plants, animals, and fungi included, will begin to deteriorate and whither. They will not immediately die unless they are extremely small or weak.

Scarf Scythe

At the end of his scarf is a Scythe that holds a blaster skull on top of it. The skull can move on its own and will protect Anubis whenever it's necessary.

Darkness manipulation

While not all that useful in combat, he can manipulate shadows and make rooms darker as well as create small pockets of darkness.

Levitation

He can fly for short amounts of time although not very high. He also has a form of blue magic which allows him to move small objects and anything with a soul.

Memory manipulation

He can erase and change the memories of anyone who he touches with his whole hand.

Teleportation

He can teleport to places that aren't too far and if he's memorized the coordinates. He doesn't use this ability often though.

Weaknesses/ Downfalls

His eye

His left eye will sometimes randomly begin to burn and his vision will blur. His eye is very sensitive to touch.

Easily confused

Due to his head injury, he is a bit slow and takes a while to understand things. He will often get frustrated when he can't figure things out.

Glitchy

His body is glitchy and distorted which will sometimes cause itching and pain.

Unstable soul

His soul is unstable and weak. If he moves too far from his home, his soul could shatter.

Personality

Anubis is generally very quiet, shy, and cautious around those he doesn't know. He has a small fear of getting too attached to anyone for fear that he may accidentally hurt them or get hurt himself.

Around those who he is comfortable and familiar with, he is quite different. He loves a good pun and will ramble about things he likes. He fears things like hugs and most forms of physical affection due to the nature of his deterioration ability.

He is an extremely paranoid and nervous guy which can be hard to approach. He tries his best to be kind due to his own experiences. He doesn't want other to have to feel paranoid about everything like he does. If someone threatens or puts down anyone he considers a friend or mentions Nightmare, he will enter a blind rage. When enraged like this, he will blindly attack anything that moves until he is somehow calmed and or knocked out.

He is generally very patient and will try his best to listen and learn but will get frustrated and upset if he can't understand something that should be simple.

Creation

Anubis is the result of an encounter between Geno and Reaper gone wrong. In this encounter, Reaper attempted to take Genos soul, believing that it was impure. When he found Geno was unable to be killed, he stuck around, trying to understand why he couldn't take Genos soul. He eventually took a liking to Geno and decided against trying to harm him. They would frequently spar for the fun of it, and one day while playing around with their blasters, a huge explosion of magic was caused. The blasters where shattered by the explosion and magic fused, causing Anubis to be born.

Reaper wasn't sure how to feel about Anubis and mostly ignored him. Reaper actually tried to avoid him for fear Anubis would become another soul reaper. Reaper didn't like his job and certainly didn't want to have someone else trying to get into such a painful job.

Geno was very confused by Anubis at first but ended up warming up to him. Anubis somewhat reminded him of Papyrus which made the connection that much easier to establish. Geno took care of Anubis for about a year before helping him find a better place to stay. Preferably one that wasn't a void.

Relations

Geno

Anubis saw Geno as a father figure although he was aware of the more manipulative and temperamental side of him. He did not like however that he was treated as if he were naive and stupid. Geno usually babied Anubis, which he hated but understood from what he knew about Papyrus. Geno had managed to gain Anubis' trust.

Reaper

Anubis didn't particularly like Reaper. Reaper was unpredictable and cold to him. Anubis didn't understand Reaper and actually grew to dislike him.

Nightmare

Nightmare was one of the first Sans' to discover Anubis and almost immediately tried to kill him. He would've succeeded if dream hadn't stepped in. Anubis despises Nightmare and will be thrown in either a panic attack or either a blind rage when reminded of him (depending on the situation and context).

Dream

Dream stepped in and saved Anubis from Nightmare and took him in for a while. Dream taught Anubis about the world and all the wonderful things in it. Anubis trusts Dream with his life and enjoys talking with him.

Death God Anubis

Death God Anubis is the name of Anubis' corrupted form. This form starts as a voice in the back of Anubis' mind that gets louder and more controlling the more damaged, panicked, anxious, or angry he is. The Death God is highly controlling, manipulative, and violent. With much stronger forms of magic and higher confidence, Death God is a huge threat.

While being dangerous and prideful, Death God still gets frustrated quite easily. If someone wounds his pride, he will get sloppy in his approaches, which is the best time to make a move. The best way to get rid of him is to knock him out or immobilize him. When knocked out, Death God loses control over Anubis and when immobilized for long enough, he is forced to retreat back into Anubis' mind to regain his strength.

Fun facts

Anubis absolutely loves animals but has never owned a pet due to his fear of killing it.

The end of his cloak and scarfs hood are almost like a mist and will expand when he's upset.

He is very lonely but would prefer to be lonely rather than hurt anyone.

Anubis will begin bleeding and glitching when upset, angry, anxious, or sad. He will also begin to bleed if his HP is low.

Octopi and spiders scare Anubis on a level that is actually hilarious to anyone watching. He gained this fear from Nightmare.

When embarrassed, he will hide his face in his scarf and try to cover his whole body with his cloak.
