Dom was born with a soul condition known as Magicae Impentum which means his soul produces too much magic for his body to properly handle and use. This makes him a powerful fighter but comes with potentially deadly side effects if not managed properly. Thanks to this condition, he was recognized as a potential asset to the military in the ongoing war and was trained from a young age by his father to be a living weapon. X was cruel in his training, if you could even call it that, nearly killing Dom on several occasions in the name of strength. His mother being bedridden and terminally ill was unable to do much to prevent this.
