This is the End.

Your vine-cutting dagger rests in your hands, which are tired from the fighting the flowery demon, easily comparable to struggling against Death herself.

Just behind it, a tall door frame looms above. This is the barrier to the Otherworld the denizens of this eternal prison long for so keenly. You are a person of “that world far away”, the one last hope for they yearned for. Alas, their hope was shattered, as was the Soul of the noble king.

He wanted you to take his Soul, so you could stop the suffering of monsterkind and help them reach the one dream of feeling the true warmth of the Sun on their skin. Not any “core generated energy”. No mere fires. The Sun.

That wish is gone forever.

Of course, it is not your fault. It was that weed’s doing. Ruining everything truly is it’s only purpose in this world.

You stand in front of the lifeless lifeform. There is no use crying over spilled milk.

You can’t turn back. For what would you return anyway? The piles of dust? The broken hearts? The emptied, once joyful, regions of the subterrean kingdom?

The only way to go is forward.

You walk up to the gate. It shouldn’t let you through, but… for whatever reason, the mysterious rainbow fog seems to mold underneath your hand so willfuly. It creates a hole underneath your fingertips, which expands into a gap of your size just four seconds later on. You feel the howling wind touching your palm. It is freezing and cold.

You step through. You feel like a feather that is being played with. Myraid of colorful forces surround you, sending you through above the abyss of emptiness, which you fly across.

You scream with pain! All is burning, the clothing on you smells of ashes and you feel fire to consume your Soul-!

Wait, you didn’t feel that?

I have felt like so in the past. How curious. What right has a barrier to decide, whom it will treat nicely and to whom it will be an absolute inferno?

You make it through the spectacle, as another one appears right in front of your eyes.

It is the dead of night. A red, bloody moon reflects in your eyes. The symbol of altered fate.

This night was meant to be a turning point in history. The coming of new, the overturn. It was all in your hands, yet you threw it all away for few miserable shreds of power, which won’t mean anything by dawn, if the dawn ever comes.

You failed your destiny.

You can let go now and live your life in any way you please. No more fright for your life, no more fleeing, never anything abnormal anymore.

Yoy let go of your worries and gaze on the moon. All is quiet now, uneventful.

From now, until the moment you die.

Ha ha. That is a lie.
