Arachnids' Requiem

I haven't written a poem in nearly a month, oh boy.

Muffet's death scene? You know, where a singular spider comes along and plops a flower down right where she turned to dust? The moment when the spiders knew that their dream of finally reuniting with their brethren trapped in the Ruins would never become a reality? That's basically what this poem is about.

Gotta love that simplistic post intro.

The arachnid in search of gold,

Precieved as a being of greed.

Yet her intentions were that of a saviour;

To help her fellow spiders' in need.

The spider clan trapped in the Ruins,

Longing for the day they would reunite.

The fatal frost of Snowdin proves imable;

The gold raised would make their future bright.

Yet the dream can no longer become reality,

As the child clad in stripes appeared.

Known to be a threat to everyone's kind,

The saviour still fought, her ending now neared.

The murderer did not strike their foe;

Persevered through every attack thrown.

Soon to be spared for not hurting a single spider;

Yet the decision was fatal, the saviour hadn't known.

The child then striked without hesitation,

Depleting all of the saviour's life.

Her dust spread all across her webs;

The dream shattered rapidly, like the slash of a knife.

The spiders were now left in anguish,

Their provider now ceased to exist.

A flower was placed in the spot she was killed,

Despair spread in the spiders' midst.

The dream to reunite the spider clan was once vivid,

Yet that day is now never going come.

It was instead replaced with everlasting sorrow;

Known as the day of the arachnids' requiem.
