Breathing gets harder,

Eyes get heavy,

Beats get shorter,

It can't be time already..

My smile fades away,

The flowers take their toll,

My body begins to sway,

My head begins to lull.

I hear them calling out to me,

My head is pounding,

We'll all finally be free,

I hear their sobs sounding.

The castle fills with grief,

My family mourns their loss,

This is only brief,

Much more shall replace this toss.

My soul is glowing red,

He stands there, shaking,

His heart is filled with dread,

This is a game of our making.

He grabs the glowing heart,

Places it on his chest,

Praying it won't tear him apart,

It will be in the best.

He and I have become one,

More powerful than the rest,

Our time as come,

To free all those held by human detest,

We will win this battle,

We shall fight the fight,

The knocking becomes a rattle,

There comes the bright light.

I tell him to go forward,

put my body in the square,

give me a place to rest, it's pretty straightforward,

It's the smallest burden he could bare.

Yet the humans do not understand,

They attack us without thought,

We will die by their hand,

I say to fight, yet we ought to naught..

Mother and father weep,

For now they have now lost us both,

Now like lost sheep,

They bicker and stunt our kingdoms growth.

Father chooses to be ruthless,

While mother becomes kind,

Father bold, cruel, and truthless,

Mother sweet, shy, yet blind.

This is our fault dear brother,

Indeed i know,

If only there was another..

Maybe mother would not miss us so.

Maybe father would think again,

Help the kingdom unite,

Yet we could never think to gain

From a blind king’s sight.
