Hello everyone, I'm gonna try writing in first person for the first time! Also I'm kinda tired from posting ever so often for the Easter event, but here I am, posting a poem about an AU I barely see: Horrortale! Outside is what lies the horrors from the rule of our former Royal Guardsman captain, Undyne. I guess after the decimation of Asgore from his throne, Undyne decided to take over, corrupting the royalty with her hatred for the humans. It was never meant to be this way, it was always meant for peace, not genocide.

Do you know what happened here my child? Why do you think I hide behind the door, why do you think I always rattle at the door whenever you leave? I'm scared for you my child, the absolute horrors are that in which I can never face, never again.

Let me tell you the history of the Underground. Once upon a time ago, there was peace between the humans and the monsters, but then my son, the heir to the throne, died and ASGORE, the king of the monsters was bruised deep with rage and anger and went to war with the humans. As you can see, it didn't go so well, and here we lay, human blood running deep into our dirt grounds.

Please understand, it is not our fault that we are like this, we are just so hungry, and the absolute inhumanity that we face on a daily basis has made some of us a little unhinged, please...promise me one thing, ok? Promise me that you will escape out of here alive, that you will not be eaten alive by the monsters facing outside of my door. Promise me this, please my child.

Promise me that you will stay alive no matter what comes your way, stay alive even when the Queen is lurking in the shadows, stay alive when the guards spot you and wish to kill you. Stay alive when you see the citizens and how they hunger for their next meal.

And alas, promise this one wish to me. Promise me that I won't die here, promise me that I won't be the same as everyone else here and die a gruesome death, that insanity will not invade my feeble mind. Do you promise...?
