Quiet Time (Art and Short Story)

Howdy everyone, Stellar here!

I’ve been working toward being more frequent with my postings on here, and so far it’s seem to be going well!

Monster kid is an interesting character in my opinion, and isn’t given enough credit for all he does.

I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to make a post about the little guy, but the times finally come!

Story Start!

The Underground wasn’t the most exciting place for a growing child, especially when there were strict rules on where they can and can’t go.

This was the main frustration for MK, him being a bundle of energy. He wanted to explore, go on adventures all across the Underground, hang out with Undyne and watch her take out the baddies!

All such things had been proven to be difficult considering he wasn’t allowed to go very far into Waterfall. Of course, he didn’t always listen yet somehow his mother always found out when he had gone too far away.

However, there was one place that he could spend all day at, and no one would ever have a clue. It was his secret hideout, and the exact place he was heading to that day.

Monster Kid ran along the path he had come to know so well, a small leather satchel on his shoulder and a toy spear in his mouth. Wearing a gleeful expression, his footsteps echoing as he entered Waterfall. With zero hesitation, he changed his direction from the general pathway which lead deeper into Waterfall. While faint, there was a trace of a path, one that few would bother to take.

Taking the time to glance around to ensure he wasn’t followed, he approached the small waterfall and pond that quickly came into view. Before this had been his secret hideout, the few monsters that had come were still too many for him still.

”Maybe this is can be my title!”

Monster Kid thought excitedly

”Super Incredible Hideout Finder!”

The title seemed rather impressive in his mind,until a problem occurred to him.

”How am I supposed to tell others about my awesomeness if I have to keep all the proof a secret!”

Monster Kid thought in a moment of dismay, quickly shaking his head as if to be rid of the thought.

”If they don’t wanna believe how awesome I am, that’s their lost! I know what’s what!”

With a smile on his face, MK looked around to check if any monsters had happened to stumble across this area.

Pleased to see no other monster, he approached the pond, taking a deep breathe. He jumped into the water, shocked by the cold for only a second before he dived down to the wall area behind the waterfall. While it technically ended on the ponds surface, part of its force was easy to feel due to how shallow the pond really was. It made it easier to reach the small hole at the base of the wall.

He had found the hole on accident. The grass by the pond had been wet, and by extension, slippery. While he was careful enough to avoid a slip, one day he had gotten too into his game. One moment he was pretending to be Undyne, the next he had managed to plunge into the pond. Having been disoriented, he opened his eyes in attempt to get his bearings. Having noticed the hole in the wall, he quickly got his breathe and dived back down.

And once again, he was wriggling his way into the room behind the falls. Before him was a small golden spot, glowing brightly. It worked as a teleportation device, the moment he stepped on it he was taken to a small island floating among a sea of stars.

How the teleportation lad worked, or where this island was didn’t matter for him.

Everyone needs a quiet place to relax.

And this place was his.
