Yes, I make mentally disabled characters. I make physically disabled characters. I make characters who aren't white, I make characters who aren't straight or "cis". I make characters who have happy backstories or that have a traumatic past.
Representation matters! People need to know that it's okay to be the way that they are. Positive representation is good! Negative isn't usually the best route, I guess. But I do that anyways. Everyone has bad traits.
possible triggers
In human form, Azure has cerebral palsy. She can't walk, can't form words, and is wheelchair bound. But she doesn't get made fun of, she lives a happy life. Azure and her forms are also mute, but use telepathy. But as a human she can sign a bit.
Xeno is a psychopath (by definition, meaning he has antisocial personality disorder). He doesn't feel empathy, which isn't a positive trait. He also is a victim of sexual abuse as well as physical and psychological torture.
Absinthe and Chardonnay are both on the autistic spectrum. Abby has aspergers and Char has "regular" autism.
Chambord is mute and uses sign language. He also exhibits animalistic behaviour.
Absinthe and his other forms (excluding Chambord, although he is no longer one of his forms) are all genderfluid. They have no sexual preference.
Azure actually prefers girls over men, but is currently dating a guy.
So, yeah... I have more, but for other fandoms.
