I know it's probably a long gone subject and most of us moved on deltarune rn, but what if the angel from waterfall prophecy is not you? I'm gonna directly tell about who I truly think it is and why, considering each route ofc, but the angel is Asriel. To start with I think I should analyse the prophecy, which say "the one who has seen the surface", it did not mention or attributes in either version (echoes flowers or waterfall shop) that "the angel" comes originally from surface or was born there, the only fact mentioned about surface is that he seen it. How most may know, after Chara death Asriel absorbed her soul and travelled throught barrier with her body to bury her body in her natal town. (Not gonna talk much about what happened there, you all know alerdy) A important keyword in prophecy would be "they will return and the underground will go empty" which can mean reincarnation too if you wanna think about frisk, but again, it applies to Asriel much better, as he returned in a lot of different way I may say, but let's take true pacifist route as the best example, after absorbing the 6 human souls and all monsters around Asriel recovered his original body and enchanted it in a godlike form, after a long battle, he decides to uses the power of st.. souls to destroy the barrier and free everyone, at the price of his own somehow. So Asriel destroy the barrier, everyone lives happy on surface and the underground became empty. Basically I think this is the og prophecy, even if it can take and another forms, as genocide, where asriel have his implications too, he suggest multiple times the player to kill everyone, and end up killing the last one of bosses before a battle even start. Another important fact would be the deltarune symbol, which is not much, but it also represent their kingdom and is found on every royality outfit. "All we know is that the triangle symbolize us monsters below, and the winged circles above symbolizes something else" - gerson, well the winged could represent even Asriel in his godlike form (the one with wings tho), as you can compare yourself it match almost perfectly in essence. (Left wing, circle with asriel soul, right wing) which i think represent Asriel domination after underground souls?! Cause u know, he kind of just absorbed them all.. or it can represent something more metaphorical.
