In the year 19xx there were two collective groups of beings intermingled with one another. Both sentient with the ability to speak and think and grow in the world left to them. Both with their strengths and weaknesses. Though as they evolved and grew to fit the needs of the world around them there began to be a change in mindsets.
You see, humans viewed the monsters with envy. Their abilities with magic making many humans green with their lust and want. The power that seemed to course through their dna being a a want...a need. Slowly with time the humans either envied the monsters or were scared of them. Thinking that monsters could very well kill and destroy them all. Irrational, yes, but very few chose to search for that truth which could put the humans at ease. While others chose to attempt to harness it for their own. Through much resources and experiments the humans managed to harness some of that power. For no good reasons.
"Monsters," as the humans described them, also had similar views of the humans. Although in much smaller numbers. Because Monsters understood that, despite their lack of magic, humans were very strong. Their soul traits and physiques were the main reason for that. Monsters were far weaker, their bodies turning to dust when they died was a good give away of this disadvantage. On top of that their souls didn't hold nearly as much power, as it would take hundreds of monster souls combined to be equaled to the strength of a human soul. Though growing tensions created greater unease amongst their race.
Finally, the tensions snapped and a war broke out. The monsters on defense, while the humans were on offense. The reason for this war....the planned adoption of a single human child with a red soul by a monster.
The humans had believed it was the monsters attempt at getting a hold of a strong human soul to experiment as they had done in secret. However that was far from true. They feared what they didn't understand. Out of fear of their only weakness: having their soul absorbed by a monster.
The war lasted several weeks. Slowly the humans managed to eradicate whole continents of monsters. At the same time they corralled the stronger ones into the same area to finish them off. Countless monsters were massacred, without a single human SOUL taken.
However the beings of great strength they had created through the use of monster souls chose to protect the balance of the earth and the monsters. The sorcerers and sorceresses used the magic in them to protect the monsters by trapping them deep where humans wouldn't find them. Creating a world they could live in forever without fear or pain. But the humans that created them didn't know this. They believed that the sorcerers and sorceresses had destroyed them for good. Claiming this as their victory!
But one of them hoped for a future with change, so without the others knowledge they created a way that the monsters could be free again. To return to the lands once promised to them.
The monsters now sealed away within the mountain built a home for themselves. Their numbers were few but growing, many of their races had been wiped out leaving a very slim amount. This would change, because the monsters would began to grow as they began their lives. Building a city a little ways from where they were sent into the underground.
Things would change shortly. A young girl would fall into that opening left by the magician with the red soul. The young child with a red soul of DETERMINATION. Originally the monsters were terrified and fled their homes in their city named "home" and go deeper into the underground. Later creating a city furthest from that point named "new home." This child would grow into something remarkable as she was adopted by an old war hero and raised to become one of the strongest.
Her friends being two survivors of a single race. When one fell ill she told them about a flower on the surface that could save them. So with the royal scientists help they created a machine to give her determination to the healthy sibling. To traverse through the barrier with a soul equal to the mages that sealed them there. Where they were killed.
Due to this a war was declared on the humans. Any and all that fell into the underground would be killed as a way to collect each trait to free them from their cage. They had turned to the child with the red soul...but for some reason she was no use.
The underground fell into a sort of despair at the loss of the two princes. But a small flicker of hope kept them alive. If one human had fallen surely more would.
On the outside of the mountain, as time ed, humans began to forget about monsters entirely. Even building on the majority of the mountain all around leaving just a bit of its peak sticking out. Rumors of the mountains unstable grounds and unsafe wildlife made many humans feel the mountain wasn't safe. Deeming that no humans should travel on uncharted land. But many didn't head this warning. All survived however, except the children.
The pull of the barrier would draw their souls to the monsters. Their young souls pure and untainted by the flaws of the human race.
After discovering a pattern the humans created a rumor to scare children away from the mountain. After 4 children had already vanished.

Like in undertale you can see the attacks coming. Yet it’s still a puzzle on dodging! All together on a magma canvas you’ll roll to save yourself from the monsters attacks. Perception and Speed being the biggest factors! Not every one has good perception and not everyone has good speed. You’ll need to rely on your friends to make it through safely! Killing or Sparing monsters…is up to you. If you listen to the Chara character you may win special bonuses to get you out of the underground. But it’ll cost you =)

Choose your guide through the underground! Both are equally murderous with the chance at redemption! Your path may change a lot with who you pick! 7 humans have fallen from across the multiverse into an odd underground. Nothing is as it seems as reality is twisted. Facing not only monsters from their own universe but monsters from other universes. Sometimes even two of the same monster! Two Sans’? Pray you don’t die where you stand.
