Metal armor was something Undyne has heard of and even wears occasionally. She has no problem with wearing it, and usually takes pride in doing so. An armor is a symbol of bravery, protection from evil and a shiny mirror that reflects its owner's gallantry and their soul's allure, few of the meanings Undyne had adopted for this piece of metal that rarely left her side as the Head of the Royal Guard.
But had she heard of glass armor? Not likely. That was new.
When she expressed her wish to visit Alphys more often without the risk of suffocating encircled by the steam of Hotland, the last thing that came to her mind was there being a certain eavesdropper, presumably sojourning at Papyrus' house. They had heard everything she'd said, popped up from behind the couch, and almost sent Undyne's signature eye patch flying away for good. Should it be an innocent overhear or not, the warrior couldn't accept the fact she'd just had a jumpscare from one of the non scariest things she'd seen.
And now, this? Humans have weird ideas, completely (ah, not really) contrary to their abundant history of the most gracious and greatest inventions -- and swords -- that she had ever seen. This glass prison of water was sure to suffocate her more than how the hot air would, she thought. But strangely, it kind of helped. She could breathe a little better, but sight was a problem. Everything looked huge! Besides, what would Alphys say if she saw her with a water filled glass helmet on her head?
Needless to say, Undyne really hated that helmet, bowl, whatever you'd call it.
She took it off with a loud groan, "Ugh. Couldn't I just grab a cup of water from the water cooler whenever it's too hot?"
"Calculating how much time it takes for you to faint. . .," Frisk mused, sealing a tiny crack in the bowl with expired instant glue, "you'd need way too many cups, you may never even reach the lab door."
The worst thing about this is that they were actually correct. Undyne, as tough of a warrior as she was, as strong and determined she was marked to be, her only weakness was fire and anything related to it.
"Guess you're set!" they announced and made their way to the water cooler. Returning with a cold cup, Undyne looked at them with a befuddled face. She silently watched dazedly as her left hand was gently opened petal-style, repositioned, and given the cup. Her hand abruptly started to feel numb, which was quite abnormal, due to her living in a place that could've been considered the second most frigid region in the Underground.
She looked from the cup to the human multiple times, then finally shook her head in confusion and question as to the cup's presence.
"It's in case of emergency. You don't know if that bowl would survive for as long as you'd like it to."
The fish-like monster let out what might've probably been her eleventh groan that night. She tugged at the plastic that was environing her neck and hoped that she wouldn't have to feel its stifling presence the whole time, but it surprisingly and veritably did a decent job at preventing the water from spilling onto the floor.
She took a deep breath (although filled with water rather than air,) and started to make her way through the second bridge leading to Hotland. She glanced once to the back of her head and saw Frisk making a series of obnoxious moves, ones that may look like dancing, while holding their phone and creating strange screeching that was muffled due to her huge moisture provider.
Upon making her short steps to the bridge, she began to think if this piece of glass would actually keep her alive for a little while. Undyne put the water cup on the floor, and the water inside it evaporated.
The cup evaporated, too.
Whatever, she thought. She was going to take a chance and see what happens, she won't lose a thing anyway. The water cooler was right in front of her, and she can manage to expedite her legs to reach the lab in the shortest possible time, where there would hopefully be more water, a fridge, and probably a way to keep the air humid and available for breathing. She inspected the distance from the bridge to the lab. Quite a long way (not that she could clearly see it), and even more risk of her protection breaking, causing her to dive in an ironic ocean of steam, lava that jumps out of its boundaries with no warning, and probably doing a horrid performance of constant jumping and flapping for at least four minutes. And THAT, would be a nightmare.
Undyne stepped on the bridge with her right boot, earning a load creak and feeling sheer calidity underneath her feet. If she had been any closer to the boiling lava down there, the boot would've been on fire already, probably along with most of Undyne. Beads of sweat were streaming down her body a long time before she had finally noticed, and a certain twitching in her left eye almost made her go insane. This was atypical, to say the least. She crossed this bridge whenever Alphys needed her help at the lab, which may be rarely, but enough to adjust her to the heat of Hotland. She had thought quite well that she had already ed this stage. But right now, a certain voice at the back of her head claimed that she, in fact, had not, and she might be on her way to literal hell.
That's insane, she thought once more. A wooden and old bridge like this isn't one to defeat her. Among everything she'd battled, this was sure not to be the most undefeatable of all, and neither should it even be a rival to contend with. This was merely a bridge that she would cross, and that she will cross now.
She wasn't one to give up.

Lol I've just been commenting and liking almost everything. I've been trying to find the for ages XD. Also I'm guessing the application closed a long time ago.
This is good. The premise is believable, Undyne attempting to power through her weakness of HotLand by any means necessary. The format is understandable and readable, and I felt like Undyne was really struggling through this challenge. Excellent work, I hope this gets you enlisted.
ah, thank you so much for you review! and I really hope I get in. that'd be great.
