Introduction
FracturedRune is a post-chapter 1 AU set in a Universe in which Toby quits working on Deltarune sometime shortly after development on chapter 2 had only just began. This leaves the world and its characters trapped in an endless purgatory with no escape and no end, forced to repeat chapter one over and over for the rest of eternity.
The majority are left completely unaware of their eternal damnation and live life normally, repeating the same day to day activities with no recollection of any of the previous resets of the chapter, while others remain self aware and cursed with the knowledge that the life and world they live in is nothing more than a mere work of fiction, some being aware that things will never change, whilst others live in hope that their creator might some day return and fix a world that remains broken.
If someone who know the truth were to tell someone unaware, they too will be forced to every single repeated chapter, and will never be able to forget.
(also, everyone has spooky spooky designs because yes uwu
This is partially meant as sort of initial foreshadowing for how dark the au ends up as it progresses.)

Themes
This AU’s subject matter gets continuously more dark as it progresses, starting off with initially somewhat light themes of existentialism before soon devolving into themes of mental and even light physical abuse, traumatic experiences and how they effect the characters involved, full on existential crisis, loss of faith, the basic rules of reality almost completely falling apart, and the worlds god essentially being dead.
Chapter 1
Fairly uneventful and shorter than the other chapters, but serves as an introduction to the world and characters, along with addressing certain elements that will become important later on.
Chapter 2
Probably the most action oriented chapter of the 4, providing conflicts and developing each characters relations with one another. Will probably contain a handful of combat scenes used to help further develop elements introduced in the first chapter.
Chapter 3
This is where things start to break down. Elements of psychological horror are introduced as characters grow restless of the eternal repetition of reality and begin to realize that things are never going to change. Confined to a single day with no chance to see tomorrow, this begins effecting each character’s mental state, some more than others.
Chapter 4
This world and it’s inhabitants are far from being saved now. Even the most strong-willed and optimistic of characters are finding it hard to keep things together now. Others are in states far too gone to be helped. Everything falls apart into permanent disarray.

(Unlisted characters might get Wiki’s at some point in the future, but are of lesser importance to the overarching plot and don’t really have enough difference from their original counter parts to otherwise warrant a wiki being necessary. They do however still serve roles interacting with the main cast and helping to further the story to a degree.)
