Intro

These headcanons will be organised from most to least important. They are also going to be separated between Undertale and Deltarune

Some of these mean a lot to me, especially the Undertale ones, but some are negotiable. A lot are kinda dumb. If you’re not sure, just ask.

That being said, I love roleplaying and would be ecstatic if you wanted to roleplay with me. I can be incredibly slow at times, as I have a lot to do, I still love to have those plots and chats with people.

In case it’s not obvious from these headcanons, I like to play Chara or Kris most lol. No romance :3

Deltarune Headcanons

These ones are less solid than the UT ones

Nonbinary Kris. This is non-negotiable.

Ralsei is linked to Asriel, but they are not the same person. It’s not a direct parallel for Flowey, bc honestly if Toby did Flowey twice I’d have to call him lazy lol

The player is bad for Kris, regardless of morality. It’s destroying their mental health to be hijacked, even if nothing bad comes of it.

Kris struggles to tell the difference between their actions and the player when they are controlled. When the player is in control, it feels more like mind control than body control, with a few moments of clarity here and there.

It is just as important that the light doesn’t overpower the darkness. In a different timeline, different heroes would be trying to empower the dark fountain so the dark works doesn’t cease to exist forever.

Both Toriel and Asgore are bad parents, in different ways. Asgore spends all his time being Fun Dad, and neglects Kris’ physical needs, and Toriel focuses so much on Kris’ physical needs that she’s become emotionally unavailable for them.

The pure dark fountain is somewhat sentient in its magic, and is kinda chaotic in how it presents it (much to Ralsei’s frustration)

Lesbian Noelle, Bi Susie, Ace Kris, Aro/Ace Ralsei, Bi Berdly. This is a neurodivergent, lgbtq+ friend group. They all sit in the same room and either all talk over each other or say absolutely nothing the whole time, no in-between.

Asriel likes to garden like Asgore, but he’s awful at it. He can only keep, like, one plant alive (That plant being a golden flower because I like connecting the universes vaguely)

The castle town dark world moves to wherever it is most needed. If Kris desperately needed to get to Ralsei, any door they open would lead straight to Castle Town.

A different group of heroes is chosen every generation. The battle for balance never ends.

Asriel created the pure dark fountain, creating the link between him and Ralsei. Ralsei is a mirror of Asriel as a young boy, who never grew up and went to college. He is exactly what Kris selfishly dreams of.

Chara is Asriel’s roommate in college, because I truly think they’re best friends in every universe. They’re the only humanin a monster filled College.

Not a hc but Jevil is the best character, but most people write his dialogue weird smh

A brief detour to the Gaster Zone

I don’t care too much about any of these, to be honest, but I think they’re fun. I love thinking about that unethical man.

Gaster created the connection between Kris and the player in the hopes he could figure out how to connect back to his world. One of many Gaster plans that probably won’t go as hoped.

His main line of science was researching souls like, 60 years ago, when science was allowed to be unethical. This included grave robbing humans for their souls.

The bunker used to be Gaster’s lab, and his ass like…apocalypse proofed the whole thing because he was paranoid.

He was fairly successful academically, but after being voided all trace of him slowly eroded away, and not just because he was voided. Some of the things he said…shouldn’t be taught. Again, unethical and sometimes just wrong.

Gaster is like….very disconnected from reality. Both literally and figuratively. He forgets about how things can cause pain, or that other people have feelings he should be careful of.

He has a brief and broken connection with many various realities, though it results in little more than a memory of him here and there, a trace left behind in the snow.

In every reality, as long as Gaster exists, he will be voided. It’s just how life works for him. If there is a gaster, he’s getting thrown in the void.

He’s the kinda guy to intentionally misuse slang he hears to frustrate the youths. Like, he is so pedantic that people should speak proper English, that he tries to annoy people into giving up any informal language.

He had nothing to do with Jevil and Spamton. It’s just a weird coincidence I guess lol

Also probably not the egg guy?

wait no this is funnier: The eggs mean nothing, he’s just a scientist who kinda wants to see what will happen when he gives his experiment an egg lol

Undertale Headcanons

Most of these will be about Asriel and Chara tbh. I love the them.

Frisk and Chara are nonbinary. This is also non-negotiable.

Nara-chara all the way

DNI if you think Chara is evil, actually. This is sorta a joke? But honestly, and I can (and will) rant about why the genocide ending cutscene is the cheapest and worst part of Undertale, and I don’t want that. You don’t want that.

Frisk can control the timeline from their determination, but they need Chara’s extra boost of determination for a true reset, hence why you can only do it after a full happy ending, and why you never get a true reset again after geno. Chara won’t let you.

Same with surviving in the Asriel fight, actually. You gotta get Chara on board before surviving death like that. Two souls acting as one.

Asriel and Chara are, like, 12 or 13. Children, but not like 5 or anything. They have reasoning skills, if…poor.

They were genuinely good friends, and Asriel’s memory of Chara is tainted by their last act being incredibly manipulative, and their final argument as the two died together

From Chara’s perspective, however, they genuinely thought they were going to save everyone and the pain they put their family through would end up worth it. They saw their own life as disposable in the grand scheme of freeing monsters, and Asriel saw Chara as his whole world, with no point to freedom if it was as an only child.

Knife and bandage are more of a genocide vibe than the knife and the locket. Same with locket and stick feeling more pacifist. This isn’t a dig at the game or anything, actually it’s a pro. I feel like both starting and final equipment show really good storytelling by kinda mirroring each other? Idk

Asriel has 0 creativity. I mean, Flowey was a shit name to choose for a flower, I’m sorry. This boy can’t think of anything better.

Mad Mew Mew is trans. So is Mettaton. I don’t make the rules

Sans isn’t genuinely hiding anything, he’s just an asshole messing with you through space and time because he knows how humans can resist death, and he’s got great person reading skills. After all, in genocide he’s the only character to immediately know something is up with you, and that’s not a timeline trick. He’s just perceptive lol

Chara is really blunt, and every rude conversation option is their idea. Not evil, just kinda annoying. Honestly they’d get along with Gaster for a while (until Gaster tried to use them for an experiment or something)

All the past humans who fell were killed by Asgore himself, their stuff just got spread around the underground. Don’t absolve this man of god guilt lmao

The player isn’t really involved in Undertale, Frisk isn’t aware of the control like Kris. All the actions in the game are the player’s fault, still. Don’t blame chara for the murder when the point is that Chara has your name. In that moment, Chara represents you, ya dingus.

Asgore is the most divorced man ever, regardless of the timeline.
