In this AU, humans never existed. With the lack of humans, monsters grew and prospered, never being sent underground. The population continued to grow, far exceeding our world's human count. In present time, monsters have spread across most of the world, building big towns and major cities.
But, because of overpopulation, natural and magical resources alike are slowly starting to dwindle. Most of the monster world is starting to get antsy and restless. With resources declining, job openings and manufacturing alike are deteriorating. Crime rate is at an all-time high, and the government is getting worried. Life is rough, and laws are strict. But some companies have turned to science in desperation to help fix this economic disaster, even if some of the projects they do may be a bit illegal.
