I’m Moon, formerly Miss Moon, and I’ve been involved with Virtual Space Amino since 2013. Back in 2015-2017, I was a curator here and retired for personal reason. But I still maintained a relationship with the community for a long time. I took a break for 2023-2024, since I went through a lot during those years, some major changes that affected my life. But I’ve recently made a come back. I used to think “but Virtual Space isn’t the same as it was back in 2015-2020” but when I think about it, that doesn’t really matter. When I first ed VS, it was like this; very small and close knit. And I didn’t have a problem with that. In fact, back then, I hated that the community became as big as it did. Until I adjusted to the new norm. Now, having 15-30 people active at a time may be the new norm, and this is okay. We can work with this just like we did back then.

As a curator, I spent most of my time helping people with their creativity, especially focused on creative writing. It was honestly my favorite part of the job. But my second favorite part was hosting challenges. Some notable challenges I did back then were the Emoji Challenge and the Magical Boy/Girl challenge, among others. Helping people when they were dealing with disputes was another part of the job, that I wasn’t a huge fan of, but still felt a sense of accomplishment in doing. After retirement, I still hosted roleplays, made OC’s, wrote poetry and short stories, and helped people in the community. As a former curator, I have a greater sense of understanding for what the curators go through and do. It’s not an easy job, and a lot of the time it’s a thankless one.

3. What is your availability?

I recently graduated from community college and won’t be attending university for at least a year, maybe two. I do have a job working in healthcare. As of right now, I am on call for evening shifts (1:45 PM - 10:00 PM EST. I can be online and active before work and after work, and obviously on my days off. More than likely I’ll be online during my breaks at work too. If my schedule ever changes (which I expect it to since I’m hoping to get on regular schedule instead of being on call), I will make sure to notify the team and the community so that there won’t be any confusion.

4. Share an idea for a project you’d like to work on.

So this is the part I’m really excited about. First, I want to establish an official activities committee if there is enough interest. This committee will work to create a calendar of activities on a bi-weekly or monthly basis (and can increase if the community grows).

Next I want to start a newsletter that collects some honorable mentions that weren’t featured and given the spotlight they deserved that can be featured to draw more attention to them. These can be posts that maybe weren’t quite feature worthy, but still deserve attention and recognition.

Next, I want to start an advice column that can discuss various topics: back-to-school tips, how to deal with cyber bullying, maybe we can use this to repost relevant PSA’s from the past or new ones that address more recent issues. We can use it to talk about creative writing tips, art tips, how-to’s and DIY’s (this might age me and be a very niche reference, but if anybody re Polyvore? I used to do an advice column on there that was very similar to this).
