Bree is a very outgoing and caring person. ittedly, she went through a phase of hating everything and everyone, but she’s gotten past it. When you have immortality, things begin to lose meaning, even the words: I love you.

Hobbies

• Singing — Music has always been a ion of hers. It has helped her express herself in ways that normal words just can’t. It expresses emotions she can’t explain.

• Art — She loves the way a stroke of a brush can turn into an ocean. She loves painting the ocean and watching the waves.

• Observation — She enjoys observing behaviors and how much they’ve changed over the years.

• Cats — She loves how soft their fur is and the way their eyes look.

Norah has gotten her through some of the hardest times of her life and while she doesn’t know it, Bree helped Norah through the hardest times of her life as well.. although ittedly she was unintentionally the cause of a bit of it.

Backstory

Aubrey Elizabeth Von Shuer was born May 10, 1648 to Arthur and Catherine Von Shuer. Her parents were wealthy landowners somewhere in Virginia. She doesn’t really recall much of her parents, but she does they got to see old age before ing on. One thing that is clear in her mind: how she basically died.

It was April 19, 1666. She had been going about her usual duties when there was a pounding on the door. She re her father unlocking it when it suddenly swung open and the next thing she knew she was being taken out of her home to face trial. A woman was accusing her of witchcraft. It was known that Aubrey really didn’t attend church often and happenings had been going on around the area. She was sentenced to death by burning. She was one of the only burnings at the time of witch hunts and it went unrecorded.

There she was, on the platform, the entire population of the area was staring at her with hateful eyes. Her pupils dilated, becoming like pin points. She closed her eyes tightly as they piled the brush and grabbed pieces of flint. The brush was lit. There would later be fire damage to her legs from her feet to her knees. She had ed out at some point from the overwhelming stress and woke up in a wooden house. ‘I must be dead.’ She thought, that is until she saw the corpse on the floor.

When a human is turned, the vampire that turned them dies. It’s a painful process for both parties. The vampire is forced to go through all stages of life and every broken bone they’ve ever gotten is felt. They may experience the effects of untreated arthritis. The one being turned takes on a modified form of their DNA causing it to basically mutate. Vampire venom works almost like a virus and modifies the cells.

Aubrey saw a note on the table:

Miss Von Shuer,

I haven’t much time to explain all the details of everything I need to, but I would like to give you a brief overview. You have been given a second life. This life, in some ways, is a cursed life... But it’s the only chance I was able to give you. In order to sustain your life, you must drink blood.

The letter outlined the details of what you can and cannot do as a vampire and it warned her not to try and change a human into one. You die slowly and any major injuries before transformation will be felt. She tried to understand what the writer meant by it all. Over the centuries she figured it out.

On her 372nd birthday, she enrolled at a high school as a Senior. She did this because she was curious about what school was like as she hadn’t been before. She knew how to read and write as her father hired a tutor at some point for her. The tutor, at first, didn’t see the point in trying to educate Aubrey but he began to see her acceleration in most subjects. Arithmetic wasn’t her strongest suit, but she loved science and history.

On the first day of school, Aubrey met who would eventually become her best friend. She had made a comment about their lore teacher when she was on the subject of vampires. Ms. Hoffmann decided she didn’t like Aubrey from that day forward, but Norah did.

Aubrey became severely depressed during her time at school however because vampires have much greater mood swings than most people. She didn’t know it at the time, but it was lack of friends or the fact she couldn’t really be her true self around anyone. That is... until she met Norah. She was finally allowed to be her true self without the fear of another person being afraid of her.

She currently resides in an apartment by herself and works at a coffee shop.
