Many of you know about our policy banning bird posts, and the staff understands how frustrating it is to have this cool legal specimine but you can't post it because its a bird
Thankfully we are revamping this! The rule is still in place but now there are exceptions that we will make.
first lets begin by showing what exactly changed in the guidelines

I have added 1.1 and a little section at the end of guideline number 2 basically saying the same thing. If you have a legal specimine that usually protected you must include why and how it is legal.
now to update the info on the bird ban!
We are now allowing LEGAL birds.
This includes:
-pets
-game foul
-livestock
-State-by-State exceptions to the MBTA
The last one is where things get tricky. Some states do have exceptions to the MBTA. For example some states allow you to hunt crows or other pest animals without license.
There are also 3 main species of birds in north America that aren't protected by the MBTA, these are Pigeons, House sparrows, and European Starlings!
Here's some photos by @Armageddon to help you identify these birds easily

If this is the case please let us know in the post! This is so we dont accidentally take your post down thinking it's not a legal specimine
These are the exceptions, majority of all birds are still not ok to post here!
Birds of prey, owls, vultures, corvids, and most other migratory birds (cardinals, woodpeckers, bluejays, etc) are still banned!
Featuring these animals or any part of them will result in post removal!
We don't care if you work with an aviary or bird rescue, and you swear your redtail hawk carcass is legal, we will still take the post down.
if you have any questions please let us know and we'll do our best to help!

are there any potection laws in spain??
For the best answer, you should local wildlife facilities and speak with them ^^
From what i can tell in a quick Google search, Spain doesn't have the MBTA, but does have strict animal welfare laws as of 2022.

Are ducks okay?
Ducks can fall under legal game fowl or livestock! It just depends on the species
