PSA: We DO NOT Condone the WitchTok “Hexing” Trend

Good afternoon Witches of Lunar Tides!

So this is not a slam on TikTok/WitchTok as a whole, however, I need to make something perfectly clear to everyone-this ‘trend’ that’s going on, with this whole hexing the sun, moon, fae, the underworld, etc; it is complete and utter nonsensical BS.

I am not exactly sure who, or what started it but I have been seeing several Pagan Articles (for example on Patheos) talking about this, and of course now the news has reached FB, Twitter and other mainstream social media platforms.

Most of us here are pro curse/hex when the need calls, however, those are NEEDS/Last resorts when other routes have failed us. Sometimes hexes bring a sense of catharsis and I am 100% PRO that-but what kind of satisfaction does one get from hexing a celestial body or divine race? Is it attention? Is it a mass psychosis? Designer drug use? At this point I say who tf knows or cares-it’s GARBAGE. Period.

As a member of leadership(and speaking on behalf of our leadership team here), we again do not care that someone has a tiktok (or any platform for that matter), however folks seen defending and/or participating in this trend will be viewed as role playing/“playing witch” and will be dealt with accordingly per our guidelines.

If you feel somewhere deep down that you need to come up on my comment thread and argue your “belief” on how the sun, moon, fae and spirits are somehow evil (along with the deities and spirits that rule over the celestial bodies and the underworld), please do us all a favor and quietly exit stage left. Literally there is a leave community button on the left side . By all means use your God(s) given right to use it.

And just to be clear-no it’s not all kids-here is a clip from a patheos blog regarding a full grown adult-participating in this lunacy:
