add some amount of depth to your

characters. give them a signature

scent or a favourite purse ! make

them have dislikes and ions.

don't forget to add in some quirks

and things they do subconsciously

such as tugging on their clothes !

                        nobody likes a Mary Sue ! be sure

                         to give your character some flaws

                        since everybody has them. having

                        a character be perfect can make

                        them dislikeable and often boring.

let your character make mistakes.

spill coffee on a stranger or make

a terrible printing error, they should

never be stationary. give characters

enemies and friends. let your main

protagonist get tired and fail, let the

characters learn from their mistakes.

when writing an antagonist, think

about these three things; what do

they think about the world that is

causing them to act this way, why

does your protagonist get on their

nerves and how do the main goals

between them directly conflict with

each other? make it personal and

make them get in each other's way.

give your antagonist some degree

of control in situations, this can be

then taken away, which would leave

them crumbled. create and write the

antagonist to be relatable yet grey.

                        your main protagonist isn't the

                        only character, pay attention to

                        side characters. they give your

                        story more depth and make it

                        flow better. this will also help

                        develop the plot. give your side

                        characters goals, aspirations,

                        defining features and try to

                        make them memorable.
