The stars are like sugar. They are sweet, dewdrops of honey on the petals of a black rose; as calm and welcoming as a lover's kiss. Hot. They melt on your tongue like magma, fire made liquid in a harmonious explosion of flavors; a force of nature that warms your throat from the inside with a syrupy touch.

The galaxy is like milk. It's gentle and soft, running through the rivers of the universe to clench the thirst of those who wander. It shines like gemstones under the moonlight, dark and pale and beautiful; like a siren hiding just below the waves, beaconing you closer with her skin of soft marble and the seashells in her hair.

The planets are like lemon. They are colorful, breaking the dark infinity with a their bright hues, their smells, their sounds. They are splashes of paint on a black canvas that you call a masterpiece. A tinge of life in your drink, a drop of emotion. Muffled laughter and stray tears, a newborn's first breath and a mother's last.

The universe in a teacup. You wrap your palms around it and bask in the warmth that lingers on your fingertips. Steam rises up to your face, the soft smell of burning ice filling your lungs. Small planets gracefully swim in your cup; others sweet, others sour, a milky way of flavors.

You slowly move it around, watching in awe as this void trapped between three walls moves along. An eternal night travels just below the edge of your white cup, taking along all its stars and galaxies and all its midnight wonder; a moment short of spilling it retreats, leaving a faint trail of black and a few stars behind.

For a while you stay quiet. You hear the silence of the universe. A soft nothingness where only your heart beat prevails, as if the stars dance to the rhythm of your breaths. You can feel it. Planets that spin around the sun, like young ballerinas twirling around the white swan; stars dying and lighting the warm emptiness between your palms; supernovas exploding quietly and gently, a bubble of laughter in a baby's throat. It's imperfectly perfect, like it should be.
