EDIT 03/16 – This policy is officially in effect! Please read carefully!

Hullo Zelda Amino!!

Recently, we’ve noticed a rise in artists opening commissions, which led us to realize we did not have an official policy for commissions. This has resulted in not only confusion on our end but also frustration from some of our s. As such, we have spent the past few months trying to create an official policy to provide everyone a clear understanding of how we will move forward regarding commissions.

  Coin Commissions

While we know Amino Coins have lost some of their appeal recently, we do still want to establish guidelines for how coin commissions would work moving forward:

• Coin Commissions will require the Hylian Artisan title

• If you currently have coin commissions open and do not have the Hylian Artisan title, please DM a leader as soon as possible so we can grant temporary permission. This permission will only last a few months, so we recommend you apply for Hylian Artisan as soon as possible

• Any blogs/wikis that do not meet these requirements will be disabled under advertising

  Real World Currency Commissions

Real World Currency (RWC) commissions are exactly what it says on the tin – commissions that utilize some form of real world currency and an external payment service like PayPal. Previously, we have applied our advertising rules to these commissions; however, this was not made clear to our s and understandably resulted in frustration, so we will therefore be implementing the following:

• RWC commissions will require a new title we are introducing, which will be explained later in the PSA

• If you currently have RWC commissions open, leader permission will still apply for a few months; however, we ask that you apply for the new title as soon as possible

• Leader permission will no longer be given for RWC commissions

• Any blogs/wikis that do not meet these requirements will be disabled under advertising

Please note that this policy does not apply to commissions for a physical product, as these will need to take place outside of ZA and therefore will continue to follow the advertising rules within our [guidelines].

  Clocktown Merchant

This is the new verified title we will be introducing for RWC commissions. At the moment, this title will only apply to art commissions; however, if the community creates a market for other forms of commissions (like edit or writing commissions), then we will extend this title to these other mediums. To apply for Clocktown Merchant, you will need:

• Hylian Artisan for at least three months

• Six featured art blogs posted after verification

As mentioned earlier, anyone who is currently approved for RWC commissions will have a few months to apply for Clocktown Merchant, but we recommend applying as soon as possible.

We understand that this is a very big change for our community, which is why it has taken us so long to officially make this policy. However, we also would like to hear from the community about their thoughts on this policy, and whether or not we should make some adjustments.

There will be approximately two weeks before this policy goes into effect on March 15th, so please provide any you have about this policy and what we should change within this form:

EDIT 03/16 – The form has been closed; thank you so much for providing your . While we will not make any major changes to the policy at this time, there will be another opportunity to provide about the policy in action soon.

  Final Thoughts

As mentioned before, this has been months in the making, so we appreciate all of you being so patient with us. We also appreciate any we can get, and we will let you know if any aspect of this policy will change between now and March 15th.

While this is nice, I have heavy concerns.

Typically, only art that follows a specific quality standard is featured in every if not most communities. By making it so people *need* to get featured as a requirement for real-world currency alienates all other people who don't meet that quality standard.

Like you can say "Oh we feature posts based off requirements in posts" but that's not the issue, the issue is- is that even if you follow those post requirements art that doesn't meet that specific standard of quality or exceptional artstyle is almost never featured and in turn makes it almost impossible to get that title for anyone else except that small group of people.

I understand the staff is not taking on this at this time, but I would at the bare minimum, like to know how staff plans to counter the above issues as well as favoritism that could follow that directly after.

As an artist myself who relies on art as my full-time job, I hope this gives insight as to why I bring this up :sob:

Hi there! Most art posts are featured as long as they meet the requirements for featuring; this typically being the length of the post requirement, finished artwork, and proof if necessary from the poster.

Our community is against favoritism, and every single post is treated with the same moderation regardless of who posted it! That being said, a sketch (for example) is far less likely to be featured compared to a finished piece because of the "WIP" portion of requirements (we don't feature WIPs).

I'm sorry to hear you've experienced favoritism in other communities! Here, we do our absolute best to be neutral stanced on everybody's posts!

We don't judge based on "quality of art style" but rather the effort the artist put into their work, regardless of skill level or art style! No art style nor technique is better than another!

I hope this helps, at least a little! If you have more questions, feel free to ask!

This looks like a good idea! As long as good communication takes place, and unaware s are treated kindly for unwittingly breaking this rule, this will be a very nice change I believe :)
