December, 2016

A teenage girl s her first Amino, unaware of what future awaits her. She does not know that she will leave this first community – and many others – before a year has ed. She does not know that there will come a point where she considers deleting the app altogether. She does not know that there will come a point she holds on for a single community.

She calls herself "Dorkling."

Fall, 2017

The girl rediscovers Twilight Princess through the first two manga volumes. She has seen the game – her family even has a copy of it – but this is the first time she's let herself engage with the story and characters and world instead of ively looking at someone else doing so.

She asks if she can play the copy her family has.

December 25, 2017

The girl's family gets a Nintendo Switch. The girl grew up with the Wii and had played on a Wii U while at their family friends' house, but she had seen videos online of others playing games on the new console – namely, the newest Legend of Zelda game. She never watched far into the story of the game, but she knew she wanted to play it for herself.

But first, a round of MarioKart with her family.

March 5, 2018

The girl creates her first post on Zelda Amino.

It's nothing special, just some quick paragraphs to express her ideas. She calls it a "theory," but it's mostly conjecture with little evidence. Even so, she's happy with it.

...she is surprised when it appears on the featured feed in less than 24 hours.

March 29, 2018

The girl posts her art for the first time.

She's posted narrative writing around this time, too. However, it's since been lost to time. Years later, their loss is still felt, but that is not important now.

The concept is complex; perhaps too complex for her skill at the time – the background is messy, the posing is strange, the anatomy is rough – but she is proud of it all the same.

Years later, she is still proud of what she achieved at the time, even if her ability has grown.

January, 2019

The girl buys herself a 2DS XL with the money she is gifted for Christmas. It is the first time she can call a console "hers" and only the third console to exist within her home. Two more – one for each of her siblings – will soon follow, but for now, this is unique to her.

The first game she buys for this new console that is hers and hers alone is a copy of Ocarina of Time. It was a kindness bestowed upon her that she even has this copy, and she is grateful for this kindness many years later.

It is not long before she finishes the game and begins another within the series.

January 19, 2019

The girl posts the first iteration of a tale that will change many times in the years to come. In its current state, it shares little with what it will become, but it creates a strong foundation for future developments to build upon.

Even at this point in time, the girl knows this is a story that will continue to follow her as time progresses.

April, 2020

After years of lurking and occasionally posting, the girl decides to one of the many groups within the community. She s the Kakariko Chronicles as one of their writers, and there will come a day that she is asked to be a co-leader of the group.

Eventually, she will see it wither away, but it will be a matter of time before such a thing happens.

October, 2021

She is a girl no longer, having grown to adulthood within the past month.

The young woman s the Event Team, excited to be more involved with this community she has grown to love. Coincidentally, she is accepted into Omni on the same day.

November 26, 2021

The young woman revisits the story she had written years ago, polishing it into its final form. Though the exact details of the narrative will still shift as time marches forward, the broad strokes will remain the same.

May, 2022

The young woman attempts to create her own group, having ed several at this moment in time. She creates it from her love of music, hoping to find others who will share this love with her.

It does not last, though she still holds this hope within her.

October, 2022

The young woman s a new group – the Rumor Mill Journalists. She has loved writing since she was little, but this new group would continue to inspire her to hone her craft, even as the group name changed and she found herself with less and less time to give to her writing.

November 8th, 2022

The young woman is promoted to Curator. She is bewildered at first, not entirely believing she is worthy of the position, but she knows she is not alone.

January 4th, 2023

The young woman is promoted once again, this time to be a Leader of the community. At the time, she does not fully believe she is ready for such responsibility, but she will grow. She will make many mistakes, but she will learn.

After all, she loves this community.

February 25, 2025

It has been seven years since the young woman first ed this wonderful community.

Seven years that she has spent learning not just how to hone her crafts but to interact with and understand others.

She has seen this community grow and change as she has, and though she has moments where she misses what has been, she would not change the here and now for anything.

That is why seven years after she first entered Zelda Amino, she accepts one more promotion: to be the Agent of the community she has adored for so long.

And I cannot be more excited to see what the future has in store for both myself and this wonderful community I love so much ♡
