Greetings and salutations, ZA!

My name is Fallender.

But, I go by Fall, Fally or Ender! <33

I am a digital artist and roleplayer. I also am complete noobie to the entire Legend of Zelda franchise. All I know is BOTW and TOTK… But, I’m slowly learning about the other games!

Today, I my first blog on Zelda Animo! This blog is actually special! Well, it is, to me (lmao XD) Why you may ask?

It’s my entry for the Secret Zeldas Redesign Challenge!! >:D

In case you didn’t know, the SZ Redesign Challenge is where all Secret Zeldas redesign, apply changes or create a secondary outfit for their respective Zelda. As the newest member to the group, this is my first participation and challenge! Therefore, the Zelda I’ve redesigned is Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages Zelda!! ^^

But, before I can show the final results of my process, I must provide a few explanations! Let’s get on with it!

When I first saw Oracle Zelda’s design, she caught my attention! The artstyle made her look adorable and her outfit (in my eyes) truly resemble a princess! I also adore the fact she was given a cape too. I wholeheartedly believed my Zelda’s outfit was truly special. Therefore, my original plan was to create a second outfit for her!

However, before I start to work on her second outfit’s design, I decided to check out the other Zeldas designs on the SZ wiki. My original intent was to gain some inspiration. But, that wasn’t the case. I made a discovery instead. What was my discovery?

OOT (Ocarina of Time) adult Zelda literally had a similar outfit as Oracle Zelda.

Even with the different artstyles, OOT adult Zelda’s design does has more details than Oracle Zelda’s design. But, my point still stands here. They still have many similarities. So, I changed my goal instead. I decided to make a complete redesign of Oracle Zelda. My goal? To simply make her design unique, in comparison of the other Zeldas.

Here’s the list of the following key aspects I decided to change!

1. Her Outfit

• I decided to add major changes to Oracle Zelda’s outfit. Most of Zelda’s designs already have long gloves and similar dresses designs. So, I wanted to change that for my Zelda. My entire goal was to create an outfit dress that seem similar yet was slightly different. I made the following changes; an entire new dress with puffy sleeves and fingerless long gloves. I figured it was best to just keep the original colors as pink and purple (or magenta) is a common color scheme amongst other Zeldas. Also, I wanted to leave the impression that Oracle Zelda’s design was inspired by OOT adult Zelda’s design. But, the differences are noticeable, you know? (Since OOT was released in 1998 and Oracle was released in 2001).

2. Her Hair

• Long hair is a frequent trait amongst all Zeldas. Of course, long hair is beautiful. Typing this made me realized I should have given my Zelda a different hair length instead. Oh well. Regardless, I decided to mess around and find a hairstyle that suit my redesign. I wanted to test my art skills. I end up sticking with that hairstyle since it felt right. I also gave her some yellow beads in her hair. I don’t know. I think, I just like drawing circles :’D Also, yes, BOTW and TOTK Zelda’s hairstyle was my main inspiration too. I had fun deg her hair! I really adore it <33

3. The Golden Jewelry

(Crown/Armor Plates/Belts)

• I made minor changes to Oracle Zelda’s armor. I added more features to the armor. I wanted the armor to look different from OOT’s armor. I also used the cape as an excuse to add the hanging strings of golden too. I felt like her original belt was very basic for a princess. So, I changed the design and added a red jewel in the middle. I also gave her two golden rings at the end of her fingerless gloves. The rings feel right for me. Lastly, her crown is based off of Hyrule Warrior Zelda's crown design. I felt like the crown design suited her more as Oracle Zelda gave me the vibes that she was crowned as Queen. She just felt more a royal princess to me. And, that’s the vibes I aimed for while redeg her
