I held the goat's hand. She was tall, around 6'10 to 7'8. Her exact height was indeterminable. Despite her shockingly tall height, she was very kind and mother-like. Her soft hand felt nice in mine. The hand-holding comforted me... I was scared and nervous in this new place. I was scared she would find out what I had fine...
We entered her home. It was nice and cozy! The walls were a soft brown, the floor was hardwood in this specific room. She smiled and let me to my room. The hallways was completely yellow, even the floor, flowers, and rug!
We entered the room. It was all red with hardwood floor. There was a closet of various-colored, striped clothes, a shelf of shoes, and a chest of children's toys. Toriel, as the motherly goat's name was, acquainted me to the room before sniffing the air. She remarked about something burning, alarmed. She raced out of the room.
I yawned. Oh, how tired I was! I crawled into the bed. The covers were warm and comfortable. The bed itself was soft and cushioned. My body sank into it. I sprawled out on my stomach, closing my eyes. I slowly drifted off to sleep.

I opened my eyes. There was a sweet smell coming from the door. I sat up and scooted out of the bed, my feet barely touching the ground. I stood up and looked at the door. There was a slice butterscotch, cinnamon pie on the ground. I smiled and strolled over to it, picking it up. I ate it, savoring every bite.
I left the room, looking around in the hallway. There were plants. I recognized them, but forgot their name. I went to the second door in the hall. It was unlocked, so I opened it. It was completely blue with a single yellow flower on a shelf of books. I pulled out one of the books. I flipped to a randon page.
The page spoke of a plant called a "water sausage". It looked like the plants in the hallway. I wandered over to a desk. It was labeled as a diary. This must be Toriel's room, and her diary. There was a paragraph that was circled. It was a joke about a lonely, female skeleton. My heart began to hurt... The skeleton was obviously Toriel.
I left the room and moved to the next. It had a sign. The sign read, "Room under renovations." I sighed and tried to open the doorm it was heavily locked. I slid my feet over ti the mirror and looked in it. It's me!
Soon, I left the hallway and skipped to a calender. It said the date was 20XX... That didn't seem right, but oh well.
I looked at the stairs. I thought about going down before finally deciding to. I took slow steps, feeling the stair before completely stepping down. I eventually reached the bottom. There was a long corridor that reminded me of the Ruins. I continued down it for a little while before Toriel came down and grabbed my hand, pulling me back up. She sat me down and started to talk about snail facts. I listened, faking eagerness.
"Did you know that snails can flip their digestive systems as they mature? Interesting," Toriel remarked. I smiled, but then frowned. I asked her about getting out of the Ruins. She frowned.
"I have to do something. Stay here," she said as she hurried out of the living room. Before I could even talk, she was already out of the room. I quickly got up and followed. I watched as white fur slipped down the stairs. I ran after her, quickly going down the stairs. She was idlely standing there. I approached her, slowly.
"You wish to know how to return 'home,' do you not? Ahead of us lies the end of the RUINS. A one-way exit to the rest of the underground. I am going to destroy it. No one will ever be able to leave again. Now be a good child and go upstairs." Her voice sounded shakey. A pang of sorrow went through me. She raced off, leaving me behind. I hurried behind her. Her long legs made her faster than me by a long shot. Eventually, I caught up to her as she was, again, standing idle. I walked up to her.
"Every human that falls down here meets the same fate. I have seen it again and again. They come. They leave. They die. You naive child... If you leave the RUINS... They... ASGORE... Will kill you. I am only protecting you, do you understand? ...Go to your room." Her voice wavered as she spoke. I had to hold back tears. How selfish of me for wanting to go home... Though, it was a necessity... My parents would be worried. I needed to go home...
Toriel ran off, faster than usual. It took me a whole five minutes to get to her. I breathed heavily, out of breath. She looked desperately sad as I approached. She took a deep breath in and let it out slowly.
"Do not try to stop me. This is your final warning." She hurried around a corner. I followed as best I could. I swear there were tears forming in her eyes. My heart felt broken...
"You want to leave so badly? Hmph. You are just like the others. There is only one solution to this. Prove yourself... Prove to me you are strong enough to survive." We entered into a battle. I trembled as Toriel prepared a magic attack. I wasn't sure of what to do, so I spared her in hopes should would give up already. She didn't say anything. She attacked, I dodged. I spared... Still nothing. Again, she attack and I dodged... For the msot part. One attack struck me. I spared more. More silence, another attack, more dodging. I spared once again. Toriel made a confused noise. I dodged her attack and spared her again.
"What are you doing?" Toriel was confused. I soared again and she said, "Attack or run away!" I refused, so I spared again. She questioned, "What are you proving this way?" I pondered this for a second before sparing her again. She exclaimed, "Fight me or leave!" I spared her some more. Her voice quivered as she retorted, "Stop it." I spared even more. "Stop looking at me that way." I looked away from her as I spared her more. There was silence, a spare, silence, spare, silence, and then she remarked, "I know you want to go home, but..." I spared her, sadness welling up in me. She sadly said, "But please... Go upstairs now." I held back more tears and spared her. She sighed and said, "I promise I will take good care of you here." Tears filled up my eyes. I spared... She snorted and remarked, "We can have a good life here." Tears dripped down my face. I spared her and she continued to speak, "Why are you making this so difficult?" I sobbed as I spared her. Tears dripped down her face while she spoke. "Please, go upstairs." I silently spared her. She stayed silent. I spared. She fske laughed. I spared once again. She retorted, "Pathetic, is it not? I cannot save even a single child." I spared and there was silence, so I spared again.
"No, I understand. You would just be unhappy trapped down there. The RUINS are very small once you get used to them. It would not be right for you to grow up in a place like this. My expectations... My loneliness... My fear... For you, my child... I will put them aside." I couldn't hold back any of the tears as they streamed down my face. Toriel looked pained. Then, I did something I had never expected to do. I got an impulse to attack, so I picked up a stick and did it... Toriel held her wound, blood dripping from her mouth. She weakly smiled.
"Y... you... really hate me that much? Now I see who I was protecting by keeping you there. Not you... But them! Ha... ha..." She faded away into dust. I screamed and dropped the stick. What had I done? Why had I done it? I know I had killed a monster before, but I hadn't known what I was doing! Now that I knew how to spare another, I felt horrible! I spared most of the monsters, but one- now two!
I cried uncontrollably, dropping to me knees. I looked at the dust on my hands. I shook as I sobbed. My put my hands on my face and weeped.
Eventually, I got up, wiping the tears and snot from my face. I stepped on the stick to break it. I opened the doors to get out of the Ruins. I made my way down the next long hallway sullenly.
