Hello, Gen: Lock Amino! 🖤

My name is DarkNinja and today I will be applying for the curator applications, which can be found here. I wasn’t sure if this was supposed to be posted in a blog or not, but since I haven’t posted here yet I thought I might as well let this be my first blog.

My preferred name is DarkNinja, but many people call me Darky for short.

╰─► Question Four: What makes you a better choice than the other applicants?

I’m not sure that there is anything that makes me better per say, but I am quite active on Amino and spend a lot of time in my communities. Plus, since I am an adult, I handle myself in a mature fashion.

╰─► Question Five: Do you know anything about moderating, or have experience moderating?

Yes, I do. I am a curator on the Miraculous Ladybug Amino, and have been moderating there for just over a year now.

╰─► Question Six: When working with people you dislike, how do you act?

I try to avoid them as much as possible, as to stay out of conflict/drama. If I am forced to work with them, I am usually serious and to the point, and try my best to get along with them for the time being.

╰─► Question Seven: How would you prove that you are qualified if you were to be picked?

I would begin by getting to know the team I will be working alongside, and then I would learn the ropes (rules, guidelines, what I would be expected to do everyday.) Once I was sure of what I’d be doing, I’d jump into being an active in the community and do my best to keep it safe and welcoming.

╰─► Question Eight: What are your reasons for becoming a curator on this Amino?

I saw an ment on the Miraculous Ladybug Amino and it immediately caught my attention. The show itself seems interesting and like it has much potential, and I believe this Amino is likewise full of potential. RoosterTeeth is the creator of some really popular and unique shows, and I think over time this place could really become a home to fans and critics.

╰─► Question Nine: What skills do you possess that can contribute to this Amino?

Well, I am a fanfiction writer in multiple communities. I aspire to become an author someday, so I spend a lot of my time creating fan-based works. I am also experienced with creating theory blogs, Q&A’s, quizzes, polls, challenges, and reviews. I’m also a voice actress, but I’m not sure how that could contribute xD.

╰─► Question Ten: What is the most important part about being a curator in your opinion?

In my opinion, it’s to just be there for the community and its . Whenever someone needs help, I want to be a reliable source that they can come to and trust. I love helping people, it always gives me so much satisfaction. If I can be there for just one person, then I know I’ve done something right.

╰─► Question Eleven: What suggestions and ideas do you have that you can offer?

I have a few suggestions that I’d love to share! First, I think it would be a great idea to collab with another Amino (preferably a larger one) to gain attention to this place since it’s still so new. This can be done through challenges, crossovers, events, etc. Advertising on platforms like YouTube can also bring in new people. I also think it would be cool if we could have a live chat with one (or more) of the voice actors/actresses from the show. This was done in the Miraculous Ladybug Amino, and it brought in a steady stream of new and was overall enjoyable for the whole community.

╰─► Question Twelve: What is your definition of “feature-worthy”? What sort of posts would you feature?

My definition of feature-worthy is something that has been put together with obvious effort. I only feature blogs that have attractive covers, overall good grammar/spelling, eye-pleasing construction, and offers something interesting to the community. Example: Artwork needs to be clean and had time spent on it, fanfictions need to be a certain amount of words (usually over 1,000), and theories need to present something new and original.

╰─► Question Thirteen: If you were assigned to finish a task by the end of the month, and there is absolutely a zero percent chance you’ll be able to complete them, how would you handle the situation?

I would try my very best to get the task done before the allotted time, but if I was unable to, I would immediately go to the person who had assigned the task and notify them that the task would not be completed. I would then discuss alternatives with them and come up with a plan to handle the situation to make sure everything would work out in the end.

╰─► Question Fourteen: A member of this Amino is outraged. They insists another member is bullying and harassing them. They comes to you for help. What do you do?

I would begin by calming down the member that is outraged, and ask them to tell me their side of things in a reasonable manner. I would then ask for them to provide screenshots of the conversation or some sort of proof to prove that the other member had been indeed harassing them. Once I had proof, I would report the member that had bullied/harassed them to a leader so the leader could take the required action. (Strike/ban/warning.) If allowed, I would hide their profile and message them, reminding them of our guidelines.

╰─► Question Fifteen: A member is posting 18+ images all over the Amino, including chats and posts. No leaders are on to ban or strike the member. What do you do now?

Firstly, I would disable the posts that they had posted and delete the images they had sent in the chats. I would then message them, reminding them of our guidelines so that they would be warned. After doing this, I would hide their profile and ask the in the chats to message me if they see the continuing to post 18+ images. While waiting for a leader to come online, I would continue to disable the posts and delete the messages sent in chats.

I live in the Eastern Standard Time, or EST.

╰─► Question Seventeen: What times are you available?

I am available the most during the evenings and mornings. I am also more active on the weekends. However, I will be graduating from high school soon so my time on Amino may be reduced slightly.

╰─► Question Eighteen: Will you notify a leader when you are going on a Hiatus for more than a single day?

Of course! Whenever I will be going on a hiatus, I always tell my team and leaders and let them know what time they can expect me to return/how active I will be. I also put the word “hiatus” in my name so the of the community will know that I won’t be responding to their messages as quickly as usual.

╰─► Question Nineteen: What are your positive and negative traits?

Positives: I have experience moderating and taking care of a large community, I’ve dealt with a lot of drama and issues in the past and have learned how to handle when they’re upset, I take my responsibilities seriously and devote time and effort into them, I always try to go above and beyond of what was asked of me, and I try my best to be patient and kind to everyone.

Negatives: I can come off as sort of intimidating at times, and I like it. I like being feared ;) (not sure if that’s really a negative.) I can also be lazy and slack off sometimes, or when I’m dealing with issues with my family or friends I can go offline for periods of time and my moderating tends to go down for a bit.
