Hey everyone!! Ready for chapter 2?? It’s a short one (idk if that’s a good or bad thing).
If you haven’t already read the first chapter, you can access it here (it has a lot of important background information).
There is a summary provided at the end of every chapter in case you want to skip over it.
Also I didn’t mention it in the first chapter, so I’ll include it now: Marinette is around 17 and Adrien, 18. It’s not that important to the plot but I feel like 14 is too young for the events in my story since there’s violence and killing and stuff :sob: .

There was a cute asian girl sitting on Adrien’s bed like she owned the place. Her silky dark hair was pulled back into a messy bun and she was wearing sneakers and a dark red hoodie. However, there was one thing which caught his eye: a glint of metal catching on the first morning rays of sunlight.
A knife.
A knife which she twirled skillfully around her dainty fingers like it was nothing more than a pen.
“W-who are you?” His voice came out in a whisper. He thought maybe he hadn’t even spoken it, but after a while, she slowly dragged her piercing gaze up to meet his.
She grinned wickedly, the light catching her eyes in a blue blaze. “The last face you’ll ever see.”
Adrien felt his heart drop and he scurried over towards the door, adrenaline grabbing him by the throat. “P-Plagg!” his voice cracked. Please, Plagg. Please.
A knife flew past his face. It embedded itself into the wall mere millimeters from his nose. Adrien sucked in a sharp breath, catching a glimpse of his own terrified reflection in the knife’s metal before his own hot breath fogged it’s surface. If he had been going just a little bit faster, that knife would have impaled him!
“Fast reflexes, I’m impressed,” the girl- no, The Psycho chuckled.
He stumbled backwards, heart beating wildly around in his chest, his thoughts blurring together. He was going to die! Sh*t! He was actually going to die!
“The door’s jammed so don’t even bother,” the girl sighed, flexing her gloved hand in the direction of his only exit. Adrien’s head spun so fast in her direction, he thought it might fly off.
Okay, think, Adrien, think. What he needed was something to defend himself with.
His eyes flicked back to the knife still chilling a few inches deep in his bedroom wall.
The Psycho pushed herself off the bed just as he lunged for the knife. If he could just yank it out of the wall, he might have a chance.
Unfortunately he never made it. Adrien gasped as the girl crashed into him, her body colliding with his until he was pinned up against the wall, a cool sharp metal digging into the flesh on his throat. A second knife. How many did she have?
He gulped, the slight movement causing the sturdy blade to bite his skin. A drop of hot blood trickled down his neck.
Adrien’s chest heaved under her weight as he tried to control his breathing. If he breathed too heavy, the knife would happily take his life.
The girl snickered, looking him up and down.
“What?” Adrien’s brows furrowed together, feeling self-conscious. Now that he thought about it, she could have at least waited until he got changed.
The towel around his waist was slipping and for some reason, even when he was just seconds away from death that was all he could think about.
At least let me die a decent man.
The girl’s lip hardened as she gazed deep into his eyes; studying his soul like it had the answer to a very important question.
Adrien had no choice but to stare back at her and pray she didn’t kill him.
She had large blue eyes, soft pink cheeks, reddish lips, and dark silent hair. Under different circumstances, Adrien would have seen a girl like her and thought, there’s someone I can trust. She just had that certain warm charisma about her.
Which at current, was starkly defied by the keen knife she held against him. Definitely not someone he could trust.
For whatever reason she was hesitating to murder him, he only hoped it would give Plagg enough time to come save him.
He struggled in her grip; a feeble attempt at escaping. Adrien watched as her eyebrows quirked a little and her grin wavered.
“Is this a joke? Why aren’t you fighting back?”
Adrien’s face scrunched, confused. This WAS him fighting back?
She leaned back. “Hawkmoth’s son… a complete disappointment.”
This comment stung a bit and through a brain clouded with fear, he grumbled. “Did you come here to insult me or kill me?”
The corner of the girl’s lips tugged upwards a little and he felt the slightest, TINIEST release of pressure on his throat.
Adrien closed his eyes. He could actually feel the blood rushing through his veins. He could hear it in his ears. That’s how scared he was: if it wasn’t for the strength of this girl holding him against the wall, he would have fallen to his knees a long time ago.
Then he ed what she had called him: Hawkmoth’s son.
“W-Who’s Hawkmoth?”
Perhaps she had gotten the wrong guy? Hopefully that was it. Not that he could deny much though, not when he knew nothing about his father. The man could be the president of and Adrien still wouldn’t know.
The girl just looked at him in confusion.
“Don’t play dumb,” she hissed, her voice rising. “Why’d you do it? Why’d you kill them?”
Adrien returned the strange girl’s look of confusion with one of his own. Last time he checked, he had never killed anyone.
“Kill who?”
He looked at her, really looked at her. “Please, I didn’t do anything.”
The girl faltered for a second, blue eyes flicking back and forth between his.
Just then the door flew open and both their heads snapped towards it.
“Plagg?” Adrien gasped, relieved.
“Sh*t,” the girl murmured.
Adrien watched as Plagg staggered inside. He had taken quite the beating but somehow still managed to stand upright. His gun was out - Adrien had never seen him hold a gun before - and it was aimed directly for the girl’s head.
Maybe he wouldn’t die today after all.
“Hands in the air. Step away from the boy.”
