Quiet. Peaceful. Tranquil.

Ladybug perched on the edge of a roof as she gazed at the beautiful city she lived in. God she was so lucky. She unclasped her yoyo from her side and opened it to check the time- 8pm.

She stood up and threw her yoyo onto the nearest building as she soared through the night. The wind tickled her arms as she ran across a set of rooftops. She giggled at the freedom she felt.

After running for what felt like hours, she wandered around aimlessly for a while, just enjoying her time as Ladybug. But yet, her thoughts always went back to Hawk Moth. What was he doing? Was he conjuring up another evil plan to obtain their miraculous? Would he be as cruel as releasing an akuma at this time of night?

"Snap out of Ladybug!" She closed her eyes and sighed. The akumas recently had become a lot harder to defeat and each one took more energy from her. Most nights she'd return to her room exhausted. And on top of all that, Marinette found it hard to keep herself together outside of saving Paris. She had all these secrets piling up, all these secrets to keep to herself to protect her and her partner, meaning her life as Marinette was also starting to struggle too.

She rested against the chimney of a nearby building and took one last look around. Paris looked like it would have a peaceful night tonight. As she got out her yoyo she quickly glanced to the right of her. She squinted and caught sight of a familiar blonde boy storming into his room.

With curiosity getting the better of her, she discreetly made her way towards the mansion. Once outside Adrien's window she hid behind a wall and peeked inside. She could do with talking to someone to take her mind off things...

*Adrien's POV*

"Adrien, your father wasn't finished speaking to you!"

"Tell him to leave me alone!" I climbed the large marble stairs to my room and slammed the door behind me.

Why doesn't my father ever listen to me? He can't force me to spend all my free time seeing to his needs. I have a life to lead too! Sighing, I rested my head against the wall of my room and took deep breaths. In. And out. In. And out.

"Kid, you need to stand up for yourself. Running away from your issues isn't exactly helping." Plagg hovered in front of me and crossed his small arms across his chest.

"I guess you're right. But it's easier said than done. I know he wants what's best for me but I think there's more to me than modelling. That's all everyone sees when they look at me and I'm really starting to hate it. They just see Adrien Agreste: famous hot model. They don't care about my personality. It's all looks that they go crazy about."

"All? I'm pretty sure some people don't go crazy when they see you." Plagg snickered and helped himself to some camembert in a nearby draw.

"Well I guess Ladybug doesn't. But she only sees me as Chat Noir, and the time I spend with her as Adrien is always quite short."

"What about the time with Riposte? Or Gorizilla? Or with-"

"Ok ok I get it! There's been times where we've talked! But I mean properly. Like we've never talked about each other. Our hobbies. Interests."

"She's a superhero Adrien, she doesn't have time for that type of thing."

"I guess." I shrugged my shoulders and walked over to my couch. I rested my hands on my chin and reached for the television remote control. As I did I saw a glimpse of red close to my window. "Huh?" I made my way closer to get a better look. Funnily enough, there Ladybug was; resting outside my bedroom. I smiled to myself and opened my window.

*No ones POV*

"Ladybug? What are you doing here?"

"Oh, Adrien! Erm hi." Ladybug waved slightly and started giggling. "I was just erm, patrolling and thought I'd stop by. You seemed upset; is everything ok?"

"I'm fine..." Adrien rubbed the back of his neck and quickly glanced around the room. Thank god Plagg had hidden himself. "You wanna come in?"

"Well, if you're sure." Ladybug smiled as Adrien gestured for her to come inside. As she jumped down to him, Adrien started fiddling with his fingers.

"So." They said in unison. Glancing at each other they started laughing.

"Sorry, so um. What's really going on Adrien? I can tell something's on your mind." Ladybug perched on the arm of his white couch and rested her arms across her chest.

"It's nothing, really." Adrien walked over to his piano and sat on the stool. "It's just my father thinking he knows best; as per usual."

"I'm sorry to hear that. I would ask if there was anything I could do to help but I wouldn't know what to do." Ladybug tilted her head down. "I hope you don't mind me saying this but it seems to me your father is quite stubborn in his ways."

"Stubborn is an understatement, try controlling and extremely cold-hearted. He always does what he wants and makes me follow suit. I hate that he is basically telling me how to live my life." Adrien lifted the lid of the piano, revealing the clean and pristine keys.

"I barely know the guy but I think that's going a bit too far. Yes he may be uncaring at times but I think he does just want the best for you." Adrien scoffed and put his head down.

"Yeah, right." Ladybug stood up straight and made her way to the piano.

"Just think for a minute Adrien, he's raised you on his own as a single father. Yes he's had his assistant to help but it would've still been hard for him."

"I guess." Adrien shrugged and turned to face Ladybug. "Thanks for coming here tonight, by the way. It's nice to have someone I can talk to about these things. It's nice to know people actually care about things other than my looks."

"No problem, I was on patrol anyway so it was no biggie. Now are you going to play me something or what?" Ladybug laughed to herself and gestured to the piano they were gathered around.

"If you want then it'd be my pleasure." Adrien thought carefully about his song choice before he started pressing down on the keys. Ladybug leant against the bonnet and closed her eyes.

The music flowed through the room, spreading the tune to every corner. He chose a soft tune, not too upbeat but not too slow. Ladybug was used to music playing with her emotions; when Luka strummed his guitar it happened all the time.

Ladybug opened one eye and saw Adrien smiling to himself. He looked like a normal teenager. Happy. Ladybug's heart warmed at the thought. She was used to seeing him miserable due to the pressure of being the son of such a famous fashion designer. As Adrien lifted his fingers off the keys he smiled shyly at the bluenette.

"So? What did you think?" He closed the lid and rested his arms on the black cover.

"It was beautiful Adrien." She rested her elbows on the top and grinned him.

"Thanks, I don't normally have anyone to share my skills with so it's nice to have an audience once in a while." He stood up and tucked the stool under the instrument before turning back to the superheroine.

"Maybe you could have a career in music? I mean, you could stick to modelling but keeping opened options is a good thing."

"I guess, although my father would hate the idea of me having a career in anything other than fashion."

"That's funny. I thought you didn't care about what your father thought? I recall you saying he was controlling and hated how he told you what to do." Ladybug raised an eyebrow and smirked at him.

"Whatever Ladybug." Adrien laughed to himself.

They stood awkwardly for a while, not knowing what to say to each other. Adrien finally broke the silence.

"I have a question." Adrien tapped on the piano and looked at Ladybug.

"What is it?" Ladybug enquired.

"What would happen if you used your lucky charm now? We're not in danger so would you still get an item. And if so what?" Ladybug took her yoyo from her waist and looked at it.

"I guess I've never used it outside of battles. Never crossed my mind either." She shrugged and then smiled brightly. "Guess there's no harm in finding out." Adrien nodded as Ladybug threw it in the air and said the magic words.

"Lucky Charm!"

A bright light devoured the room. Adrien shielded his eyes with his forearm to escape the glow that surrounded him. I guess it was easier to use in open spaces. As the glow died down Ladybug felt something hit her hand.

"Umm, right." Adrien removed his arm from his face to see Ladybug glancing around the room.

"What did you get?" Adrien walked over to her and moved her hand so he could get a better look.

"A green paw keying? I wonder what this could mean?" Adrien's eyes grew wide before he pushed her hand away.

"Yeah, I wonder. I guess it just gives you a completely random item."

"No, there has a be a reason. There's always a reason as to why they give me something. Either to help in a situation or to reveal something." Ladybug wandered around the room. Nothing stood out to her. She couldn't find a use for it. So clearly it was trying to tell her something, but what?

"Like you said though, you've never used it outside of battle. Maybe it was just confused?" Adrien blurted out. Ladybug stared at him confusingly.

"You ok? You seem a bit... weird since I showed you the key ring."

"I'm fine, why wouldn't I be fine?" He laughed awkwardly and brushed his fingers through his hair.

"Wait. Perhaps this is meant to represent Chat Noir? Because it's the same colours and it looks like a cat's paw print." Ladybug played with the item before clenching her fist; tightening her grip of the object in her hand. "But yeah you're probably right, it's probably confused and wondering where he is."

"Yeah, exactly." Adrien sighed in relief. "So, are you going to get rid of it? There's not really a point in keeping it."

"Nothing would happen, there's nothing to fix. Here, you keep it." She extended her arm and held out the paw print to him. He politely took it out of her palm and brushed his fingers over the green design.

"Thanks. It's getting late, you should probably go before your parents get worried about your whereabouts." Adrien tucked it into his jean pocket and gestured to his window. Ladybug got out her yoyo to check the time- 10pm.

"Wow, yeah it's getting late. Sorry for keeping you up. Have a great night Adrien." She jumped onto the window edge and gave him a small wave.

"You too." He held his hand up and smiled whilst Ladybug threw her yoyo and left Adrien alone in his room.

As she disappeared into the night sky, he took back out the key ring he'd been given. "You were right bugaboo, it was trying to tell you something..."

"At least she didn't figure it out lover boy, Tikki would've freaked if she had." Plagg came out of his hiding place and sat on Adrien's shoulder.

"Lover boy? Why are you calling me that?" Adrien crossed his arms and glared at his little black friend.

"Why do you think kid? You were practically drooling over her! Also, don't think I didn't notice that you played her a love song on the piano either. You're in love with Ladybug mate." Plagg tapped Adrien's shoulder with his tiny hand in a reassuring gesture.

"Well what if I am? But I guess I have no chance. She likes someone else, she told me as Chat Noir ?"

"Adrien you dumb blind child." Plagg murmured under his breath.

"What did you say?" Adrien looked confusingly at his kwami as Plagg jumped off his shoulder and put some distance between them.

"Nothing! I didn't say anything! Anyway, you should get some rest. Night kiddo." Plagg flew over to his nightstand as put his hands behind his head.

"You're an awful liar Plagg, but I'll let it slide this time." He jumped over his couch and pulled his window closed. As it closed with satisfying click he put his hand against it and sighed. "Can't wait to see you again soon M'Lady..."
