review; how to find true love and happiness

HELOOO TODAY IS A GREAT DAY

hyukoh released a new album today

and I'm so excited that I'm going to

be reviewing it. please enjoy, I'm sorry

in advance if there's lots of fangirling?

also this is my first review kind of blog

so I'm sorry if its a mess

unsure of who hyukoh is?

no worries? I'll explain a little!

hyukoh are a four member band signed

to DRDRamc and HIGHHRND. they

were formed in may 2014 and have a

very indie sound to them. I'll give a basic

overview of the too;

oh hyuk;

hes the leader, vocalist and guitarist

was born on 5th October 1993

24 years old

lim hyunjae;

hes the guitarist

was born on 31st July 1993

24 years old

lee inwoo;

hes the drummer

was born in 14th June 1993

24 years old

im donggun;

hes the bassist

was born 4th april 1993

25 years old

the beginning of this song is what i

love a lot. as I play the guitar, I tend

to focus on that sound quite a lot.

the thing I love most about this song

is that the actual music gets heavier

throughout the song whereas his

voice stays soft & calming as always-

it shows a nice contrast. I could see

myself singing the chorus quite often,

however there are other hyukoh songs

that I definitely prefer. i also love the

talking at the end, it gives an eerie

kind of feel to it? the song itself is

really nice, and i love the music

I LOVE THIS A LOT. it's got the hyukoh

uniqueness to it. like the video, what

even is that??? i want to live on his

head. the video is trippy, it has a weird

sound to it, but in a really good way.

the music matches his voice in a way

and I just think thats really cool? the

only negative thing I have to say about

it is that it's only a minute long. it's a

video I like a lot and wouldn't want it

to end, yet it ends so soon. :^(

possibly my favourite song on the

album. it's so soft, and calming. I

love the sound of the acoustic guitar.

it's a song that suits all moods- you

can listen to it when you're sad, happy,

sleepy. it's just an allrounder. his voice

sounds so beautiful in this that I don't

know how to explain it. I love the video,

it's cosy and soft, I don't understand

why its not suitable for younger people?

I really love this song a lot and could

see myself listening to it often.

citizen kane

another favourite! this one sounds a

bit heavier. definitely not as soft. but

it's my kind of style. the instruments

all work well together, and it kind of

sounds a little intense? oh hyuks voice

suits this kind of style really well. I love

the deep backing vocals too, it fits in

really well with the song. i think those

who enjoy heavier music would really

love this. I kind of want to learn this

on guitar? i love the whole music solo

at the end, it's amazing and i can't

believe how talented all the

are? this song gets me pumped and ill

be partying by myself to this LMAO

SUUUUUMMMMMMEEEERRRRYYYYY

oh my god the music in this is amazing

and it's the kind if song that you can

listen to in the middle of summer yet

is also perfect for rainy lazy days. his

voice in this is really calming and i love

the lyrics to it too, it's fully of imagery

and is just overall beautiful. my favourite

line is probably "just finished to build

my wings, see you ill be there." there's

not too much going on in this song and

at the same time, I don't feel like its

missing anything- its perfect.

goodbye seoul

at the glance of the name, I thought

the song would be sad. I was right, it's

quite deep and i was going to count

how many times it said "I'll miss you"

but unfortunately im terrible at counting

lmao. but this song is beautiful and i

love that theres meaning behind it. I

love the beat when hes singing the

different verses, you can hear the

emotion in his voice and that's just

honestly so beautiful. the one thing I

dislike about the song is the huge

change of sound between the way he

sings the verses and the way he sings

the chorus. they both sound beautiful

but put together it doesn't sound as

if it fits too well? great song and great

lyrics overall though

the album is another masterpiece. I

swear hyukoh only ever produce

masterpieces. honestly hyukoh are

by far my favourite band because

of their uniqueness and distinct sound.

you can tell when listening to this

album that it's hyukoh due to that

sound. I love all the songs on the

album a lot and I'll definitely be adding

them all to my playlist. my favourite

song on the album is love ya! and my

least fave is graduation, but that by

no means makes it a bad song.
