Friends.

People with a bond of mutual affection.

People you can trust.

People who sometimes know you better than yourself.

Are friends important. Heck yeah. They can change your life completely, if you give them the chance.

Having friends is important to help with self growth, and to make you a better person. Maybe that's why Chloe needed more of them...

"Wear this."

"Sit up straight."

"Fix your hair."

"Chloe Bourgeois I will not have you disgrace the family name!" Audrey stood over her daughter as she fixed the sunglasses on her face. "Just get to school already."

Chloe simply nodded and walked out the door. She knew better than to talk back to her parents. She just wished life was simpler for her.

On the way of out the hotel block she came across a mirror. She took one last look at herself. She had bags under her eyes; barely noticeable due to the amount of makeup she wore but visible if you look closely. She tried to pat down loose strands of hair but gave up when they refused to go where she wanted them too. Her outfit didn't look as neat as it usually did; her jacket didn't have its usual shine to it either. How did her life come to this? What was she missing that could make her life more meaningful?

As she got out of her limo at school she ignored the crowds outside and strutted straight through the door. She couldn't be bothered with people lying to her about how good she looked. She sat on a bench and picked up her phone from her bag. She sent a few messages before feeling someone tap her on the shoulder.

"Hey Chloe!" Sabrina jumped up and down excitedly next to her. "So I did your maths, english and biology homework last night for you!" She pulled out a binder from her bag and ed it to the blonde girl.

"Yeah, thanks." Chloe put the binder in her white bag and turned her phone off.

"So I heard that today you'll be getting more homework from Ms Mendeleiev so I'll come find you at lunchtime and I'll get it done for you!"

"Listen Sabrina, I'm not in the mood right now so either get lost or stop talking." Chloe rested her head on the back of the bench and sighed. Sabina nodded and walked away slowly. A pang of guilt spread through her body. But she ignored it and sat back up straight.

As she put her head in her hands she heard a familiar bluenette squealing. Out of curiosity she glanced upwards slightly to see Marinette and Alya laughing. A few seconds later Nino and Adrien ed them too. Chloe smiled lightly. What she wouldn't give to be apart of that.

She'd always wondered what it would be like to have a close group of friends. Well, she did have Sabrina but she didn't class that as a true friendship. They were more... acquaintances since Sabrina mainly just did all her schoolwork. They did sometimes hang out, but not for long. And they always did what Chloe wanted to do anyway, she often wondered how Sabrina put up with her. Maybe she was a bit harsh at times which could be the reason their relationship was a bit unusual; as some might say.

She soon realised she had been staring at the group for a while now and quickly panicked that they would've spotted her looking at them. She quickly averted her gaze, just as the bell rang for registration. Sighing with relief she walked up the metal stairs to start the day.

It was soon lunch and (as per usual) Chloe was sat by herself. Sabrina popped up now and again but it was mainly on the theme of homework. Chloe rested her fist on her head as she glanced down at her lunch- it had become unappetizing since she saw the dinner ladies without gloves on.

She sat in silence whilst she felt the table move to signal someone had sat down next to her.

"If you've come to make fun of me then don't bother." Chloe kept her head down as the girl sitting beside her let out a deep sigh.

"You know I would never do that. I just came to ask if you were ok?"

"I'm fine..." Chloe turned her head to face the girl and crossed her arms.

"It's not really my business but it's clear something's up." The girl tapped her fingers against the table, deep in thought.

"Listen, what do you want Dupain Cheng?"

"Well I was going to ask if you wanted to sit with us." Marinette shrugged. "You look like you could use a friend right now."

"I'm not your friend." Chloe looked over her shoulder at the table where Mari had come from. Adrien was laughing as Nino and Alya were arm wrestling each other; wide grins on their faces.

"You could be." Marinette put her hand on Chloe's shoulder and sighed. "Look I know we haven't got on well in the past but, everyone can use a friend once in a while." She turned her body so they were directly facing one another.

"I guess." Chloe looked to the floor as she felt a small drop fall from her eye. She quickly blinked to stop them falling; she wouldn't give Marinette the pleasure of seeing her cry.

"The world is round so that friendships may encircle it. Keep that in mind."

"What the hell does that mean?" Chloe glared at the girl as Marinette chuckled.

"To everyone their own opinion. But to me it signifies the importance of friendship and how we could all use a friend. Almost as if friendship makes the world spin." Marinette stood up and extended her hand. "You coming?"

Chloe hesitated for a second before reluctantly taking the bluenette's hand. She smiled weakly as Marinette dragged her over to their table.

"Let's just make one thing clear Chloe, we are not doing your homework for you." Marinette giggled which caused Chloe to smile a bit wider. "Now all you have to do is keep that smile on your face and you'll fit in fine."

"Marinette wait." The bluenette stopped as Chloe fiddled with the end of her ponytail. "Thank you, you've helped me more than you know."

"No problem, now come on. You have some new friends to make."

Upon sitting at the table Alya and Nino were sceptical at first but as the minutes ed they were soon all laughing. When the bell rang they all stood up.

"You coming Bourgeois?" Alya raised her eyebrow.

"Go without me, I'll catch up with you in a bit." Chloe smiled as Alya shrugged and walked off with the others. Chloe watched them leave as she let out a sigh.

"I can't believe Marinette was right." Chloe shook her head and laughed quietly to herself (something she hadn't done in a long time). Who would've thought the baker's daughter would be the one to offer her . They hadn't been the closest in the past but relationships could change. And so could people. I mean, Chloe definitely had.

She rested her bag on her shoulder and walked out of the canteen; humming to herself. And in that moment she forgot all about her worries and her problems. She forgot about the pressures of looking immaculate for her parents. She forgot about the stresses in her life and focused on the present. She was happy. And she prayed that her newfound friends would her and help make her a better person...

I don't know how to feel about it. Chloe knows why Sabrina act like she does. She said herself in "Evillustrator" that without her Sabrina has nothing. After that Sabrina was akumatized twice after Chloe dismissed her. Sabrina was genuinely worried and glad to see Chloe at the end of "Malediktator" and she sacrificed herself for Chloe in "Stormy Weather 2". They dress up and play as superheroes what Chloe enjoys very much. Chloe and Sabrina have some history outside of just Sabrina doing Chloe's homework. Sabrina needs friends not less than Chloe.

And here cool and popular kids invited Chloe to hang out with them to chat and laugh and she accepts. After that she is relieved and just forgets about her totally lame and not cool or popular "acquaintance" since childhood (who was doing her Chemistry homework in the library) throwing out thoughts about her like some annoying mental garbage.

If after reading this I am supposed to think that Chloe learned some lesson about value friendship, then I just don't know.

I understand your points, I didn't really write this considering the other episodes but when you put it like that I get what you mean xx. I know it could probably be better but I was on a time limit so I know some parts don't link exactly to their characters  . It's ok if you dont like it, tbh it's not my favourite one that I've written...

I am glad you can take criticism like this.

I understand why people think this way. MLB makes a big deal about friendship. Relationships like Marinette/Alya, Adrien/Nino, Ivan/Mylene, Rose/Juleka, Nathaniel/Marc and so on are important for developing characters in them.

But Chloe/Sabrina is an exclusion from this rule. For Chloe it's her relationship with Ladybug and Adrien who are shown as positive and worth being developed. On the contrary Chloe's relationship with Sabrina presented as only having negative effect on her. You need to think very carefully about this issue to notice that there is something wrong with it.

Fanfiction just follows logic that is already is in the show. I don't like how it is played in the show much more than I don't like how it is played in fanfiction.

Well I want people to be honest so I'm glad you're not afraid to share your opinions. I don't mind citicism as it actually helps me as a writer so thank you for telling me instead of keeping it yourself

Nice, but probably a bit too easy for Marinette to forgive and forget. And I don’t think Chloe would give up her snobbiness just like that. Also, she could’ve at least invited Sabrina along to her... P.S I bet Alya won the arm wrestle :stuck_out_tongue:
