He scanned the surrounding greenery, taking in the beauty of the wilderness around him. The sun was setting and casted a warm golden light over the verdant canopy; the air was filled with the sweet fragrance of wildflowers.

He sheathed his sword on his back, the metallic clang of the blade echoing through the stillness of the forest. His scarred skin glistened with a thin layer of sweat. He crushed the heart of the demigod beneath his boot, disgusted at the form it had taken, that of a deer. The “pure” role that the demigods took sickened him, their arrogance and complacency a constant reminder of the gods’ betrayal of humanity.

Parasite could sense the demigods’ weak auras. Their presence soured the natural beauty of the forest. He didn’t need to use his full potential to defeat them; their weakness was apparent in their very existence. Yet, he still took pleasure in beheading them, just for good measure he tells himself.

To Parasite, the gods were a plague on humanity, a disease that needed to be eradicated. His hatred for them ran deep. Some would say his hatred was too extreme, but he didn’t care. He would do whatever it took to rid the world of their tyranny, even if it meant killing the ones he had once looked up to.

Parasite turned his attention back to his surroundings as the demigod turned to dust at his feet. The forest was alive and teemed with life and vitality. He could hear the faint hum of insects, the chirping of crickets, and the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. The ground beneath his feet was soft and spongy, covered in a thick layer of moss. The sound of a nearby stream added to the soothing ambiance and it invited him to relax and savor the beauty of nature.

But Parasite had no time to rest. He needed to find food, and he knew that he could trade with the nearby village. He muttered to himself, twisting the necklace between his fingers, and set off towards the flickering glow of fireflies in the distance.

As he walked, his eyes scanned the surroundings, looking for any signs of danger. His senses were heightened, and he could feel the presence of another being in the forest. His hand instinctively reached for his sword.

Was it a threat, or was it just a figment of his imagination? Only time would tell.

His once pure and gleaming hair now hangs in tangled knots around his neck, as dark as a moonless night. The instant he escaped his captivity, he hacked off his hair in a crude attempt to rid himself of the memories of his imprisonment.

The most striking feature of his face is the large, star-shaped scar that starts from his forehead and trails down his face, neck, chest, and inner thigh, like a grotesque work of art. His right eye is muted due to the scar that covers it, while his left eye glows with a dark crimson.

His skin has lost its natural hue and is now an ashen gray, with dirt and grime deeply ingrained in the pores of his hands and nails and the faint smell of blood and ash constantly wafts around him.

It’s not that he doesn’t desire companionship, but he’s been hurt too many times to risk opening himself up again. He’s independent and hates all kinds of authority. Parasite despises tyranny and has little patience for those who seek to control or manipulate others. He has seen the way that power corrupts, and he refuses to be a part of it.

There are moments when the facade cracks, and the weight of his past comes crashing down on him. He reminisces about his childhood, a time when innocence was a currency he possessed in abundance, before the harshness of life chipped away at his dreams and left him disillusioned. Memories of brighter times are tainted with a bitterness that seeps into his soul, leaving him searching for meaning in a world that has lost its luster.
