So what's Bulgogi???

It's a a grilled or roasted dish made up of thin slices of marinated meat grilled on barbecue or stir fried in a pan for home cooking ..

And I've seen it more often in drama "father is strange" when they have big family dinners

As the title says " Dak Bulgogi"

I made Dak Bulgogi (Dak :- chicken) last week and was wondering if I should post about it or not.. BUT I thought let me show off my cooking skills (lol) :wink:

As Bulgogi can be made with different varieties of meats like

:meat_on_bone: Beef

:meat_on_bone: Pork

:meat_on_bone: Chicken

I chose chicken it's easier to find good halal chicken at our place and we can't have pork so it's a No No for me..

I followed This recipe

But made a few changes..

instead of gochujang (hot pepper paste) I used red chili powder

Cause the pepper paste was quite expensive on amazon (at least for me)

And I pan fried the chicken instead of BBQ

And I didn't cut the chicken in thin slices cause I didn't knew that it should be thin :sweat_smile: 🙃

So the recipe said to marinade the stuff for at least 12 hrs or so

And if the pieces are thick you can marinade for 24 hrs if you want to..

I divided the chicken in two portions one with thin pieces and the other with thicker pieces and marinated them accordingly (for 9hrs and 24hrs)

And both taste the same :sweat_smile: ..

It was a great experience making this dish.. For me when I started to like a country first thing that catch my attention is their food and I love trying different types of food and trying as in not going to a restaurant and having that food but to cook it on my own :sweat_smile:

And korean food is seriously heaven.. No kidding.. :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes:

And I'm still struggling to find many ingredients.. I want to try soo many korean dishes :heart_eyes:

My list is full but my pocket is empty :satisfied: :satisfied:

My review On Dak Bulgogi

It was a combo of sweet and spicy flavor which will make you feel wonders if you are a spicy food lover.. And if you cannot handle too much of spicy food the sweet flavor helps you to subside the spiciness of the chicken
