          hongjoong   as   killers from their end. here

          comes                       our                      theories!

T H E O R Y:

yeosang

we believe that yeosang is a killer because after finding the hints, we looked at them all and two point towards him. first the heart, we found out that it was yeosang's. he's the direct suspect here. second, the stanza, “always seen as perfect, described as a diamond. but i have my imperfects, just a shattered diamond”. this led us to check out all group visuals from txt and ateez. though, the imperfections part made us think if someone from the visuals has a scar or birthmark. yeosang turns out to have one. not just that, but we believe he was putting up an act of innocence throughout the whole story. fake sympathy, fake affection. let's learn more about him by the hongjoong part.

hongjoong

now yes, he was the very first dead person in the story but we developed doubts against him through our team member, aoi. basically, she has read a novel which is kinda similar to this story. she explained all about it to us. “and then there were none” novel written by agatha christie has some similar incidents as this txteez story. 10 soldiers were invited around an island and same as this story, a mysterious killer started killing everyone. though, when everyone died and the novel ended, we found out that one of the dead person is behind the killing mystery. the person from the novel faked his own death with help of a doctor and killed the doctor by himself later.

when everyone died and he was left alone, he wrote a letter saying he wanted to kill everyone in a super confusing and fantastic way. he then himself wrote that he stuffed this letter in a bottled and sealed it. the letter lastly said that the bottle is thrown into the sea and if anyone finds it, they will come to know about his mastermind plan. after throwing the bottle away, he shoots himself. so yes, we highly suspect hongjoong that he faked his death too. yeonjun and soobin's deaths were described too but most of the hints and our theories point towards hongjoong. the first chapter of this story showed us a tragic scene where hongjoong is trying to survive but the killer calls him 'little boy'. we believe that it was a bait and it was actually yeosang who was putting up an act with hongjoong.

hongjoong is older than yeosang in age but yeosang is still taller than hongjoong by an inch or two. later when chapter 1 proceeded further, the scene of the killer waking up arrives. we believe it was yeosang as well because according to the grin and thirst in eyes, we thought it was something related to a visual member. since yeosang was on our list already, this scene made us give him an extra point to move upwards. other than that, the chapter when the mystery of this old house is talked about, we got more into thinking that this story is fantasy genre. the story said that a family was murdered 50 years ago and it's not possible for any member to be alive back then. they were born after the incidents took place.

but, we've been believing that hongjoong is the one. the one who's behind the 50 years ago mystery and the current one. when the abandoned house made creaking noises? and repeated the 'close your eyes' lines which made taehyun fall asleep? the house is surely unholy but according to our team, hongjoong knows it all and even does it all himself. yeosang on the other hand is aware about this too but plays along. let's look onto yeonbin's deaths for confirmation. we assume that when soobin was out, he was burnt only by hongjoong who appeared after his fake death. yeosang and seonghwa were out for a walk too but they thought it was a campfire (but yeosang actually knew about it).

when kai comes rushing in, informing everyone about soobin, yeosang who enters with seonghwa laters melts into his fake act of innocence. as for yeonjun, his death made us confirm that it really could be hongjoong. no one was shown going behind yeonjun when he went to washroom but hongjoong appeared and froze yeonjun to death. nothing was shown to be harming yeonjun physically so we think it's some power/ability of hongjoong. yeosang again would've known what's happening but continued to do his own part. and it's obvious that ateez saw hongjoong pack his stuff but of course he wouldn't have packed gasoline or loads and loads of ice. he just had the ability to bring out his powers and murder everyone.

though, in the last chapter, there's a part where a member is shown to be entering an attic behind the old wardrobe. we believe it's yeosang. as we confirm yeosang from our side, we also think that the killers (hongjoong and yeosang) know everything about the old house. it's very possible to our thinking that yeosang enters the attic on his own and he probably knows what's gonna happen to him next. he was scared, and hongjoong on the other side didn't want to leave any living evidence. in the ending, hongjoong used his ghostly powers to make the house creak and yeosang dies the next moment. though everyone was dead, it was more important for hongjoong to kill yeosang because only they both knew everything. when everyone was declared dead, hongjoong vanishes too.

how we connected each hint to killer

let's go by reviewing each hint in the same order i put them up in this blog. the first one, in which the pink panther with an eye patch holds taekai selca, was a hint which confused us the most. at first we thought it's either taehyun or kai but we figured out that the panther might be important too. the eye patch seemed suspicious and then we ed, hongjoong once had an eye patch too. it led us to believe that the taekai selca was a bait and the actual hint directed to hongjoong.

the second hint, "little little time to shine but you always look divine my patience on the edge oh look, you're now dead". we actually looked up to this hint on the end moment and the third line led us to think that the killer might be short tempered. hongjoong too is short tempered and gets angry easily.

about the third hint, it was pretty simple. our team member kay recognised the hand, which turned out to be yeosang's.

the fourth hint is a morse code, which was translated to the word 'classified'. we found out it's meaning, though, we still aren't sure what it exactly means.

fifth hint was again a stanza about diamond, and as i mentioned above, we looked for the visuals if they had any scars or birthmarks. yeosang has a birthmark.

the sixth hint was a morse code too, which meant 'omniscient'. we searched the meaning and it says, knowing everything. we just made up a theory that hongjoong is the killer from 50 years ago too so he knows everything what happened in the past. about the abandoned house, nearby places, forests, woods, everything.

the last hint had a cross on bighit entertainment. we sure had some suspects from bighit but following the hint, we came down to yeosang and hongjoong at last.

final note

to be honest, we were very confused because we had over 5 suspects. we were about to confirm yeosang and kai, but when we found the bighit cross hint, everything went downhill. we tried our best to connect the dots and conclude the final killers but surprisingly hongjoong turned out to be more doubtful than hyuka. we thought thoroughly about discarding kai too, and there's a lot of things which we guessed wrong against him. we just hope it's not too messy or confusing.
