       So, today, me and miri have decided to

       make a small guide and review of "re:boot"

       album from golden child. Hope it helps

       people learn and appreciate them a bit

       more. We have taken 5 and 6

       songs each. Check out her blog here .

       For basics, golden child are a 10

       membered group, who debuted under

       woollim entertaintment in 2017. Originally

       an eleven membered group, ex-member

       jaeseok left due to health issues just after

       their debut.

r e : b o o t   a l b u m   r e v i e w

WANNABE

       (Let me warn you, this review is long. Coz

        i love it with every cell of my body. )

       Bid adeiu to the cute chocolate boys with

       rosy hued music videos and heart

       fluttering charms of golden child, coz this

       time, they transformed completely, or shall

       i say 're:booted'? What i really like about

       their new song is that, its not a sudden 360

       degrees change. Rather, its sensual, yet

       soft. Subtly manly and charistmastic. I

       don't think that their eyes turning golden

       has anything to do with werewolves btw

       and please ditch that theory. Golden was

       prominent in the mv and might be an

       important aspect of their concept. Though i

       am not sure what exactly the theory is, but

       pretty sure the theme is about wanting to

       become like others and hence jealousy

       induced within. We see bomin vanishing to

       become seungmin, then donghyun... etc,

       which i believe is each other falling for

       others' quality instead of appreciating their

       own. I get some infinite 'tell me' vibes from

       this, in a good way ofc. The trees and

       golden painting and statue have some

       significance.

        After 13 months of 'genie'ing, we finally got

       a comeback, morever, a first complete

       album from golden child this time. I had

       really high anticipations and feel very proud

       to say that all of them have been met. So,

       sorry, but you are gonna see me in all

       golcha mentions in this blog. When

       woollim meant 'reboot',he was not kidding.

       These 10 boys really altered their soft boy

       cute concepts to something more

       charistmatic. I had expected high tone

       vocals when the deep synths started

       increasing in the beggining, but then it gave

       way to joochan's soft vocals. I like how

       they have a pseudo drop, followed by an

       actual hook. And be it during the start of

       second verse from Y, or rap parts, they all

       start without the beat. Which, creates more

       impact in my opinion. The last chorus,

       where all instrumentals stop before

       wannabe starts again is not a new

       technique, but it worked too well. Jangjun's

       high tone rap contradicting tag's lower

       pitch goes well with the flow. I don't know

       why it has not recieved its first win yet, but

       seeing non-goldenness jamming to this

       song makes up for the award i guess. As

       usual, joochan and Y have more parts, with

       Bomin not getting any lines, but i must say,

       others did get satisfying lines this time too.

      When its golden child, you need to ditch

       your worries about dance and

       synchronization, grab some popcorn and

       enjoy it to the fullest. They are well know

       for perfect chorographies, after infinite, and

       this time too, they exceed expectations.

       Right from the first formation to the last

       one all are so creative. Its not easy to

       create unique formations with 10

       , but i feel happy to see that all of

       them are visible throughout the entire

       song. First, the major deadly pelvic move

       by daeyeol caught me off guard (especially

       since i m a daeyeol trash), and the

       FOOTWORK people!!!! How do they even do

       that? As if they are pushing their legs and

       heads backwards, but torso forward...too

       complicated and beautiful. The best part is

       during 1:30 to 1:40 , during the 'fall fall '

       part, the way jibeom touches tag and the

       rest of them sit and dance and that head

       move, all are so lit. With two dance breaks,

       with daeyeol and donghyun in centre, the

       dancers got their share if spotlight, i would

       say. Also, seungmin just oozing sexy

       charisma for his parts... was lethal.

SPRING AGAIN

       This song and the music video was

       released during may, but i am actually so

       glad that it was included again in the

       album, just liie joochan's solo, coz both are

       bops, but were heavily ignored after their

       release. To be honest,i had very high

       expectations when i saw the teaser pics for

       this song, coz the aesthetics and

       background were so scenic, but the mv

       was not to my taste. I really disliked the

       pink margin and the circular fruit frame.

       Some might consider it cute, while for me,

       it was really dissapointing, especially after

       'genie' mv. And that might be the reason,

       why i did not like the song at first very

       much. Later when i only heard the audio, i

       instantly fell in love. Becoz rock ballads are

       my musical soulmates and the harmonies

       of the hook, the overlapping delivery, the

       subtle power in the raps,while being gentle,

       all are the way to my heart. And i think had

       it a better music video, it would have been

       more popular. But its still not late to give it

       a listen. Also, i just wanted to hug jibeom in

       the mv coz he looked so soft.

SHE'S MY GIRL

       This song gives me kpop vibes we used to

       get 5-6 years back. To be specific, the

       background instrumentals remind me of

       btob "wow" , while the melodies and

       delivery remind me that of shinee

       "sherlock" . Its a total new aide by golcha

       boys to see here and it would be great if

       they release a dance for this, coz it will

       make this song more popular. I think the

       random english parts by bomin and

       jaehyun is fun and everyone has some nice

       parts. Personally, i don't usually listen to

       just upbeat loud songs more, but who

       knows, i might live it more as time goes by.

       I think those who don't like spring again,

       will love this one.

OUR HEAVEN

(daeyeol x seungmin x donghyun)

       This is the song i desperately waited for

       seeing the teaser. Coz we rarely get to hear

       daeyeol, seungmin and donghyun singing

       more and can i just say that this was like a

       magic comfort blanket which i wanna wrap

       around me and curl up in a nook of my

       room all day. Its a rock ballad with a drum,

       snares and rapid guitar twist. To compare, i

       would say, exo 'lucky' has some similar

       vibes. The lyrics are uplifting and will make

       you smile atleast once for sure. We hear

       some daeyeol falsettos (and i cried, i m so

       proud) as well as people can get to see

       them sing and hear their beautiful voices.

       Its heavenly.

        (my friend from ka, Mr, Oracle, if u read

         this, isn't this our dream team? )

DON'T RUN AWAY

       This song can easily for the title track.

       Its that good and catchy. Gives some

       infinite 'tell me' vibes. The fact that jangjun

       starts the song and the fact that he does

       not rap, but sings instead gave me a major

       shock at first listen now tbh. In a great way

       ofc. I like how the harmonies changes

       randomly, and the part switches among

       are rapidly, and it makes the

       song more interesting. A high note by Y

       and some sick vocals by joochan is a

       given. And the tag x jangjun combo

       provides a nice rap part that goes really

       well and blends in to the flow. Not only it

       can be a title track as its catchy, but there

       is another reason too. Jaehyun and bomin

       have no lines (if u counts 2 secs) ,which

       usually happens with them in almost all

       title tracks.

GO TOGETHER

(jaehyun x jibeom x bomin)

       I swear i will send you curses if you are

       reading this and skip this song instead of

       listening to it. This is THE song of the

       entire album for me. The soft piano and

       just pure, heavenly, serene, extravagant,

       precious, mellofluos vocals. I honestly was

       really nervous before listening to it, coz this

       unit actually needed this song to stop

       people from saying that jaehyun is just

       beautiful and a baekhyun fan or jibeom is

       the busan funny guy or bomin is the

       handsome maknae and actor, coz all if

       them are legit great vocalists and this song

       does proove it very clearly. Like the

       contrasts of their voices and some

       falsettos stole my heart. Jibeom really

       came with that high note at me andbomin's

       voice, deep, touched me deeply. Jaehyun's

       falsetto were the best and i think i got my

       new favourite winter song with this. I would

       also like to mention, that the lyric video in

       the link is so beautifully made too.
