Hi everyone!
I know I know, don't worry I'm still alive and online despite not posting since May! :scream:  I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted and it feels so good to be posting again! :tada:
As you may have heard, last year Angie Happiness created the fantastic Break Amino Collaboration (BAC). I was invited by Angie to participate and I can safely say it was the best thing that could have ever happened. I have met so many crazy, funny and unbelievably talented crafters who have become some of my very best friends on here. You all know who you are and I love you for it
 Miniature Occamy!
Now that BAC has returned for a third time, we decided on the amazing theme of mythical! For my BAC contribution I've made a little polymer clay Occamy inspired by one of my favourite films, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I absolutely love this film and when I found out the theme for BAC, I knew I was going to make an Occamy.

:sparkles: Occamy Fact File: :sparkles:
:small_orange_diamond: Name: Occamy
:small_blue_diamond: Appearance: Plumed, two-legged winged creature with a serpentine body.
:small_orange_diamond: Habitat: Far East and India
:small_blue_diamond: Personality: The Occamy is aggressive to all who approach it, particularly in defence of its eggs, whose shells are made of the purest, softest silver.
:small_orange_diamond: Magical abilities: Occamys can grow and shrink to fit any available space. It also produces silver eggs which are very valuable, hence why they are so protective of them.
****************************
To make the Occamy, I used sapphire blue (fimo effect) clay and rolled it into a coil that was thick at one end and thin at the other. This made the general base of the Occamy's body. I textured the entire coil with needle and pointed dotting tools to create the plumage. I then shaped the head with my fingers and made indents for where the eyes, nostrils and mouth would be.
For the more prominent feathers and wings, I individually rolled out and attached tiny pieces of clay to the head and wings and textured them with my craft knife. I also added two thicker pieces of clay to make the Occamy's horns.
What I love about the Occamy is it's beautiful shimmering colours of blue, green and purple. To replicate this colour, I dusted some pearlex powder onto the unbaked creation. The pearlex colours I used were turquoise, spring green and misty lavender. I also applied some flamingo pink pigment on the beak of the Occamy.
After baking the colours weren't quite so vibrant, so I went back and applied them again. I also used acrylic paints to add further details and to highlight the Occamy's features. I also made some tiny Occamy eggs and dusted them with macro pearl powder.
I placed the Occamy and eggs inside a bottle cap that was filled with textured green clay. I did this as Occamy's have little nests and it also gives you a size comparison too- it fits inside a bottle cap!
Thank you once again to everyone in BAC, you're all amazing! If you'd like to see all the stunning crafts made for all three BACs click the following hashtags: #BacktoBac :tada:
