Personality

Adventurous, fun-loving, and fascinated by magic, she tries her best to not let herself be dragged down by the harshness of the world.

She still feels very strongly connected with her father, and can get a bit aggressive when she thinks people are criticizing him. Also, despite her rather optimistic outlook, she is incredibly critical on herself even though she knows that's not how her father would want her to think of herself.

Backstory

When she was young, she was fascinated by the world around her and by her father's magic. From this moment, Ibis knew he would raise her to be next in line as the Sky Mage in case something happened to him.

Her father made sure she was around the dragons, other elves, and humans as much as she could be without being in danger so she would become used to the different cultures and not grow up ignorant. Also incorporating learning magic into her everyday life, Ibis created the best learning environment he could for his apprentice.

As Kestrel got older, she set out on her own a lot more to discover new things and places. Ibis was a worrier and feared she wouldn't be able to protect herself, even though her magic capabilities were advanced for her age.

After the return of Zym to his mother, Kestrel spent more time at the Storm Spire with her father, learning more about her duties. During one of her visits back home was when her father was murdered, and she was not aware of this until after going back to the Storm Spire and not seeing him there.

After learning of her dad's death at the Spire, she became inconsolable but, as is her nature, fought to overcome her weakness and be the mage her father wanted her to be. She is still learning and honing her skills, but her magic abilities are always increasing rapidly.

Trivia

🪶 Her mother was a very traditional woman who completely and vehemently refused to let Ibis teach Kestrel magic. She left the two, taking Kestrel's younger brother with her and cut .

🪶 If her wings get too wet/are washed too much, they become heavy and render her unable to fly. They also get *very* stinky (like wet dog)

🪶 She refuses to touch the ground barefoot, especially on sand, and HATES her feet getting wet in any capacity
