Hi, guys! I’m participating in the #AllAboutYou challenge. I just love these challenges where you can write about your self and all your thoughts. Be prepared for this text to be very long. I’m always writing a lot on this challenges. I don’t know if there’s anyone how is reading this much text but I’m going to write anyways. I think it is fun I and I’m actually learning things about my self while I’m writing. :heartpulse:

The picture I’ve choose for this challenge is my blueberry pie made of polymer clay. I made it last week and I’m really happy how it turned out. If you don’t want to read my long text, I hope that you at least enjoy the craft.

By the way, I would be very happy if you want to follow me on Instagram:

1. How long have you been crafting for?

I have kind of been crafting as long as I . I have loved crafting all my life. When i was in kindergarten in the age of 3-5 years old, I was always in the art room. It was back then my parents discovered that I liked arts and crafts.

One time when all the other kids where just drawing I came up with my own craft idea. I used paper strings from the trash. I glued it together to a wreath and decorated it with flowers. Than I putted it on my head. The teachers where so impressed by my craft so they made all the other kids make that as well. :joy:

In 2014 when I was 13 years old I started with polymer clay. In 2016 I started with 3D origami. When I was younger I worked much whit scrapbooking, drawing, card making and pearled bead.

2. Was there anyone who got you into crafting? Who?

Actually I do have a very artistic family. On my mothers side there have been a lot of artists. My grandmother where doing pottery and my grandfather has been working with jewelry and wood sculpturing. My great grandfather where and artist. My uncle is good at drawing and painting. Than there’s also a famous artist called Ernst Josephson that I’m related to. On my fathers side there has been a lot of carpenters which also is a kind of crafting. So, I guess the creativity runs in the family. When I was younger I was crafting a lot with my mother and also with my grandfather and grandmother on moms side. I loved being at my grandparents house because I was always crafting. My grandparents helped me a lot and have definitely inspired me. :older_woman: 🏻🧓🏻

3. What’s your main medium?

I think I have two main mediums. I’m using a lot of different mediums but the ones that I’m doing the most is polymer clay and 3D origami.

I use to work with polymer clay at the weekly challenges and than I’m working with origami when I have time. This both mediums are very different from each other. In polymer clay I want to work as small as possible and add super tiny details. In 3D origami I want to work as big as possible because that’s how you’re making the biggest project. Than obviously is also very different materials. If I would pick one that I like the most it would probably be the 3D origami. I feel like that’s more unique. :sparkles:

4. What’s your favourite thing about your main medium and why?

My favorite things about 3D origami is that it is unique. There are not that many people who is working with this technique. When I first started with 3D origami all my fiends and family where really impressed (they still are) because it was something they hadn’t seen before. There are so many possibilities. You can make giant creations. There are literally no limits and that’s what I really love about 3D origami. You can always develop. :star2:

My favorite things about polymer clay is that you can work whit the details and make things look extremely realistic. There are so many possibilities. You can make literally everything and go as crazy as you want :satisfied:

5. Is there a medium you haven’t tried but want to? If so, what is it?

On this question I have to say pottery. I have actually tried it a few times but it was when I was like 3 - 5 years old. I don’t much of that and I would probably be much better if I tried again. Since my grandmother was working with pottery, me and my sister tried it a few times when we were really young. Than my grandmother got sick and wasn’t able to do pottery anymore. It would be fun to try pottery again to pick up what my grandmother did.

6. What’s your favourite thing about crafting?

Wow, where to start? I love everything about crafting. The happiness you get when you’re sitting down and working whit a craft is just amazing. Even better is the happiness you feel when you’re done and it looks just as you wanted or even better. I’m often trying new things which can be very hard. The best feeling is when you succeed with something you never expected yourself to make. That makes me so happy and proud of my self. :relaxed:

I once read a quote that said that art is like magic. I kind of agree with that because I really believe that art brings happiness to people. Even if you’re having problems in life like no money, no food, no family, no friends or if you’re just not feeling good art can always put a smile on your face. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, everyone can understand and make art. Art is a language that does not need to be translated. This is probably what I like the most about art. To make crafts, to see crafts and to think about crafts always makes me happy. :sparkles:  :scissors:

It’s amazing to have a hobby where you crate things. You can save all your crafts and look back at them to see your development. I love to have a room filled with things I have create. I’m coming in to my room and feel proud of my self when I’m seeing my big 3D origami creations. Every single creation has a story behind it. When I’m looking at a older craft I’m thinking back of the process. I can see myself going through a lots ups and downs. :chart_with_upwards_trend:

For me, the process is very Important. The finished product only tells half of the story. :pencil2:

7. What are your strongest crafting skills?

I would say that my strongest crafting skill is my patience. In 3D origami for example, you’re folding units and build them together. I can sit in hours to just fold this parts. I’m making the exact same thing for hours. My biggest creation is made of 12032 pieces. It was taking me about 180 hours to make. Without my patience it would be impossible to make that big 3D origami creations. The patient I have is definitely good for the polymer clay as well. I can work with the tiny details for a long time to make the craft perfect. I’m a big perfectionist so it’s important to be patient If I want to make the crafts as good as possible. :ok_hand: 🏻

There are a lot of advantages of being patient. When I’m crafting I’m never giving up. Even if I have to remake over and over I’ll always keep fighting until I have succeeded. If I really want to make something, I believe that I can and I’m deciding that I should do it no matter how hard it is. If you’re not patient you’ll probably give up after failing. You can’t remake over and over because you don’t have the ability of working for such a long time.

8. Is there anything you’d like to improve on with your crafting? If so, tell us about it!

Well, you can always improve. You’ll never be perfect so there always something you can practice and be better at. I feel that I’m pretty good at both my main mediums but I can of course improve by practicing more and go for bigger challenges by the time I get better.

I would really like to get better at drawing tho. I like to draw but I’m not doing it that much since I like polymer clay and origami better. I’m studying art in school so I hope to improve my skills on the art lessons. Since I’m drawing and painting in school I feel like I don’t need to do that so much at home. I don’t have much time on my spare time since I’m practicing synchronized skating on elite level besides the crafting. I would also like to be better at lettering and bullet journaling. I haven’t been doing that much at all since I got interested of it in the beginning of this year. I’m planning to start a bullet journal next year if I have time for it.✍🏻⛸

9. What’s your most favourite creation that you’ve made so far? Why is it your favourite?

My absolute favorite creations right now is my 3D origami Swan that I made this summer. You have probably seen it since it is the launch image on crafty amino right now. It’s the biggest creation I’ve ever made. It’s my favorite creation because I have put down incredibly much time and effort on it and it turned out as I wanted. Maybe even better. I’m also very proud of it since I came up with the idea all by myself. Usually I find inspiration on Pinterest. I did actually came up whit this idea on a evening when I laid in my bed trying to fall asleep.

If you want to see it clic at this link:

10. Has crafty amino helped you on your crafting journey? (Tell us about it!)

Crafty Amino has helped me sooo much. If it wasn’t for crafty I would probably not be working with polymer clay. I started with polymer clay in 2014 because I wanted to try to make miniature sweets. After a while I stopped because I was kind of tired of it and also really bad. When I first started with crafty Amino in 2015 I was doing crafts with paper and cardboard. I was participating in the weekly challenges whit different kinds of paper crafts. I saw all the other crafters making super realistic and cute polymer clay creations. Suddenly I picked up the polymer clay again and started to work with that for the weekly challenges. I was working with it more and more while I got better and better. When I saw how much i had developed I started to think it was fun. I noticed how many possibilities there where. I really liked to participate in the weekly challenges because it was easier to came up with ideas when you had a theme. That’s how I have learned. I was practicing so much.

I have also been getting a lot of followers on my . That made me realize that people actually liked what I was doing. I got a lots of nice comments of people loving my craft and having me as their inspiration. That made me wanting to continue. I wanted to show people what I could make and wanted to be better.

During this three years I’ve been on crafty amino I have developed extremely much and crafty amino has been a huge help. :blue_heart:

11. What are your crafting goals? (E.g. open a shop, start a crafty YouTube channel, have your work featured in a gallery etc.)

My crafting goal right now is to just get more attention. I want more people to see my crafts. Here on crafty Amino there are obviously just crafters who is seeing my crafts and on my Instagram it is mostly crafters and friends. I want to show my creations for a bigger audience since I’m putting down a lot of time on it. Especially my 3D origami creations. Right now, I’m hoping to get more followers on my Instagram . I think that’s the place where I can reach out to this bigger audience.

I have been thinking a little bit about both starting a YouTube channel and selling my work but it’s like impossible for me right now. I’m going in school and practicing synchronized skating as I mentioned earlier in the text. It’s already a miracle how I have time for everything now. I use to practice about 5 days in the week and every practice use to be 3-4 hours.⛸

12. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their crafting journey?

So, I’m going to say something that you’ve probably heard a hundred times already which is practice. If you want to get better at something the best you can do is to practice, practice and practice. You have to be patient while working and never give up. If there is something you like to do but is pretty bad at, Just keep doing it until you’re good. You can be good at whatever you want. :leaves:

If you just started your crafting journey you’ll probably feel that is a long way to go when you compare your works whit other more experienced crafters. But, I just want to tell you that no matter how long it will take to be good it’s definitely worth it. Just go for it! :punch: 🏻

That’s all for me folks, hope you enjoyed reading🤗 :heartpulse:
