Since VeganJo already did a #EmojiMealChallenge with the 🥓🥬 :tomato: 🥪 emojis, I wasn’t going to repeat the same basic meal… however, since I was totally unfamiliar with this particular brand of vegan bacon, I thought I’d also turn this into a🥓product review🤩

This bacon came from a friend who bought it online, then noticed it had yeast in the ingredients which she doesn’t eat so she ed it on to me. I’m not familiar with the Koji protein source, but I was anticipating a vegan 🥓 that tasted as good as it looked… :yum:

Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the taste and texture of the 🥓🥓 🤔 :pensive: 🤢 I’m glad it was a gift and I didn’t actually pay for the 🥓🥓 I give it a big :-1: :-1: :-1:
Has anyone else tried this brand? I’d like to know if it’s just me… or if it really tastes as awful as I thought it did!! :thought_balloon: 🥺 :weary:

I tried it a while back:
Ordered it to my niece's place and she did not refrigerate it
Cooked it up and I think it has potential
Maybe because she froze it first? It tasted weird but looked good… 🤔
When I have an occasional piece of bacon, I like benevolent bacon brand, it’s not as pretty, but gets the job done. When I find a good price, it freezes. Some day I will make my own with spring roll paper.
I bought rice paper to try making fakin’ bacon, but haven’t taken the time to attempt it yet

Yep, there you go!
It looks amazing but looks can be deceiving. I usually have to taste at least 5-6 vegan products to find one I like. At least now you know
Very true! When I ate meat I had bacon only occasionally. I stopped eating pork in my early 20’s, when I became a vegetarian it had been years since I had bacon anyway… so maybe Im just not a bacon person… but this product didn’t live up to its look!
Now I'll have to look up reviews on this vegan bacon ? Had to believe it tasted nasty.
Too bad it wasn't good. It certainly looks good tho :flushed:
