To enhance your writing, you

may want to find synonyms

to certain words. Words that

are plain, such as said, got,

and went. We’ll focus on said.

Here is a sentence of

someone speaking. First, “said”

will be used, then a synonym

for said will be used.

“Where are you?” She said into

the darkness.

“Where are you?” She yelled

into the darkness.

Gives you a better picture, right?

In the first example, it seems like

she is just talking, but in the

second example, you can hear

the sound of her voice echoing

through the dark place she is in.

Now, some synonyms don’t work

in a certain situation. Take this

for example:

The lottery numbers on the

television matched his. He stared

at his card in happiness.

“Woo-hoo!” He mumbled excitedly.

Now, if you won the lottery, you

wouldn’t very much be mumbling.

You’d be screaming with joy. So

that’s why you have to make sure

the synonyms you use fit the

context of the sentence or scene.

♡↷ Synonyms for said:

“She felt her stomach flutter

when she said her name”

speak, utter, voice, pronounce

“I must go” she said.

declare, state, announce,

remark, observe, mention,

comment, note, add, reply,

response, answer, re,

whisper, mutter, mumble, mouth

Joe says he is innocent.

claim, maintain, assert, hold,

insist, contend, aver, affirm,

avow, allege, profess, opine,

asseverate

I can’t conjure up up the words

to say how I feel.

express, phrase, articulate,

communicate, convey, verbalize,

render, tell, reveal, divulge,

impart, disclose, imply, suggest,

signify, denote, mean

She is determined to find

indicate, show, read

They were said to be training

apparently, seemingly,

We say the Pledge of

Guest Writer

↼   ࿎   ◡   ༟   ⇁

╰─────────────╮

Hello, I am Yuri and today

I have asked the wonderful

Stephanie Adam to be our

guest writer. She has written

a wonderful poem:

Your bloody red texture

and the softness you hold

it reminds me of him,

the person I hate and

I love the most in this world.

I know people change,

along with their choices.

Last week I liked magnolias,

next week maybe I'll like pansies.

All I know is that this week

I'm crazy about roses.

Why roses?

I don't know...

people like to think

that a rose is a romantic flower,

probably that's why everyone says I'm in love.

They might be right,

they might be wrong.

But I like to think of roses as a sign of

'perfection'.

They are beautiful on the outside,

they put a spell on you with their enchanting smell

and they hurt you when you least expect it.

You have to be very careful with them,

you have to give them all of your attention,

and also love them till the very end.

Never speak about your bad days in front of a flower

She is a Queen,

bathing in the warmth of the Sun,

and drinking from the pure, living Water.

She does not want to take in all of your low class words,

about your insipid problems.

You treat her with all the respect,

and she'll live long enough to make you happy

and a little bit less alone.

A flower in her 'perfection' is like a kiss under the Stars.

After that poem I asked her a few questions.

What does this poem mean to you?

Well, it started out as a tribute to

my broken heart. Because I have

a crush... and it ended up being a

tribute to the beauty of a rose.

What gave you the idea for the rose?

I always wanted to recieve roses

from the person I love. Or actually...

from anyone. I love them. And they

have a special meaning for me.

Why is the rose such a special

figure for you?

Because there were once two

ballet dancers that I ire a lot.

And at the end of every show, the

girl would recieve a big bucket of

roses and hand the boy one. And I

could always imagine the love they

had for each other even if they

weren't a couple. I found that

touching.

If you could say one thing to your

crush, what would it be?

I'm happy you're happy.

That is all. Thank you so much

for your time.

Thank you so much for this opportunity.

And thank you all for reading.

Please go her and her

amazing writing. I am positive

you will not regret it.

Rant

↼   ࿎   ◡   ༟   ⇁

It is the month of June, or as

many people know it, Pride

Month. As described by Google

"The month of June was chosen

for LGBT Pride Month to

commemorate the Stonewall

Riots, which occurred at the end

of June 1969. As a result, many

pride events are held during this

month to recognize the impact

LGBT people have had in the

world." ~Wikipedia

First off I want to talk about the

cliche stereotypes that many

people face. So, the two that I

will mainly be focusing on is

gays and lesbians. Gays are

seen as men who have

feminine voices, and overall

do/have feminine things.

Such as they love to shop,

have lisps, being sassy, etc.

Of course, not all of these are

true. Some may enjoy shopping

while other may not. Lesbians

are the complete opposite.

They are seen as folks who

love sports, wear male clothing,

doesnt apply makeup or shave

legs or armpits, being buff, etc.

Now, not all of these stereo-

types are true. Not every LGBT+

member is the exact same.

Every person in this community

is different. Some have these

qualities which is completely

okay! But many people do need

to understand that not every gay

or lesbian is the same. Each of

them have their own interests,

personalities, skills, and more.

Some are just bursting out of

their shell and are learning

about themselves!

In summary I want to finish by

saying that I love the idea of

Pride Month. It's really cool to

be able to meet other

of the community and be able

to learn about LGBT and Pride

Month. If I'm being honest, I

didn't know what Pride Month

really was until recently. It's

cool to be able to learn about

the history of this special

month. Anyway, thank you all

for reading.

Song Analysis

↼   ࿎   ◡   ༟   ⇁

Song

the song is suggesting what's

assumed to be, "live life to the

fullest" with what's normally

negitive connection. he starts

by saying, alright alright, to grab

attention, and then it's a hell of

a feeling though, which suggests

he knows it hurts and stuff, but

he loves living this life anyways.

the song starts off with an upbeat

tune followed by the singer saying

"alright, alright" in a calm voice.

only a few seconds later, drums

beat and the music becomes

louder and faster. the singer once

again begins to say "alright, alright"

only this time with slightly more

intensity. the third "alright, alright"

is said with a greater intensity,

almost at a yell. the song then

continues with this new intense

feeling until verse one, which

carries out the more ive tune

like the one before. this start of a

slow beat and sudden burst of

intensity followed by another slow

beat can be compared to that of a

party (like what is describes in the

lyrics). he mentioned being a king

of the hologram, which can mean

two things. he believes that life is

just a hologram- which can be

ed throughout the song-

there one second and gone the

next and you can never really

seem to grasp it, or he could mean

the live he's currently living is fake

and cam vanish as quickly as it

came, no matter how cool he, or

the life, is. the king part can

suggest that he is in control of his

reality, that he is doing what he's

doing for him and nobody else

despite life being a hologram, or

that, as mentioned before, he is

the coolest at the party scene for

now. moving further along in the

song, they are getting high and

drunk, and playing with fire.

the song tries to depict the party

the indivual is at as outrageous

since things such as gasoline,

5000 people, drunk premeds,

shopping carts, camels, and

cocaine are mentioned. this

overexageration may be trying

to point out many things. the

party is truly this crazy or the

narrator is extremely intoxicated.

either way, the writer chose

incorporate very crazy and

shocking details in order to also

enhance the idea of freedom and

"do whatever/don't care" attitude.

he also mentions a shopping cart-

most likely stolen- and riding

around in it. he most likely knows

he probably looks crazy. and the

smoke and fire alarm, suggest he

could shut it down, but won't, or

that he's ignoring safety on

purpose- or at least at a glance it

seems like that. it suggests he's

in control again, or doesn't want

to be in control- hence the

disregard of safety/alarm. he

also mentions ing out in a

drain pipe is a good time, bringing

a few of the theories from before

to life. the disregard for his own

safety in order to out in a

drain pipe suggests just how on

the brink he would have to be.

this goes back to the champagne,

cocaine, and gasoline as well as

the hologram. after this, however,

he brings a creepy vibe by saying

these foot prints aren't human,

which he could mean literally, but

there's the suggestion that these

don't appear human because he's

crashing or goes in hand with the

next line of wanting clothes, which

suggests a hook up at the party.

the next lines continue to be a little

strange, telling how he doesn't know

where he is- or rather he does but

can't how they got here.

it show's he loosing control or going

too far. it sounds almost like hope to

change this but once again the

listeners hear the champagne,

cocaine, gasoline, and most things

in between. familiar lines play until

he reveals that he is a "gentleman"

and lost a bet to a guy in a chiffon

skirt. the narrator still feels proud of

the end result (wearing high-heels).

the continuation of the loosing

control feeling weaves through these

lines and he even mentions having

had too much. and yet he continues

the party anyways with a final

champagne, cocaine, gasoline.

Interview

↼   ࿎   ◡   ༟   ⇁

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 1. Why do you write

and what got you started?

Why do I write? That's a tough

question... I don't necessarily

write because I'm good at it

or because I have edgy,

teenage angst to release. I

guess I write because it calms

me. I am a rather shy person,

so I suppose writing is a safe

way for me to vent my thoughts

without feeling pressured to

share them vocally. That

probably sounds kind of silly...

When I was younger, I was

pretty confused about the whole

"What do you want to do with

your life?" question. One of my

teachers decided to push me in

the direction of writing.

Apparently she saw something

in me, but I was like ten so I

don't think she saw very much.

Anyway, she signed me up for a

writing competition, and

surprisingly I won first place

for my age group. It's may not

sound like much, but that

competition was what exposed

my mind to the world of writing.

I've been practicing and crafting

my skills on my own ever since!

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 2. How long have you

been writing?

I have been writing for about six

years. I don't write every day and

when I do it certainly isn't very

much, but I enjoy it.

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 3.How do you find your

inspiration?

I don't really know how I find my

inspiration. The ideas usually

just... come to me. When I feel

like writing, it often helps to first

figure out what mood I want the

story to have. I then listen to

music that reflects that feeling.

Happy. Sad. Action. Peaceful.

While I'm listening to the music,

I start to write. Whatever comes

to my head will go in my draft.

Pictures are also a good way for

me to gain inspiration. They help

me visualize the mood instead of

simply feeling it through music.

Of course, you can never go

looking for inspiration. It always

finds its way to you.

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 4.Do you ever want to

become a famous writer?

Nope! I find it hard to write long

stories. I have so many ideas

bouncing around in my head

that's its hard to choose just one.

Even if I was famous for writing

works similar in length to what I

have accomplished now, I still

don't think I would want to be in

the spotlight. I try to write from

the heart as much as possible,

and I don't think I have the

backbone for thousands of

people to pick at my work!

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 5.Do you ever have an

audience you are writing to?

And if, who?

This is a hard one. I try to make

my works relatable to everyone,

but that takes a lot of skill. I

wouldn't be surprised if a lot of

the things I have written lean

more towards one audience than

another. I don't like writing to a

specific audience. My goal in

writing is to share my feelings

and hopefully connect with

someone in the process.

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 6.Have you ever used a

specific item or person to base

an entire writing piece off of?

Indeed, I have. A Letter For You

to Never See and Irusu are written

for an actual person. I didn't have

the confidence to tell the person

the things I was feeling, so I wrote

them down in a letter. Of course, I

never gave them the letter, but it

made me feel better that I was able

to share and it those words.

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 7.What is your favourite

genre to write? Why?

Ooo, my favorite genre? As of late,

I would say creepy stuff. I'm not

very good at it and I don't write it

very often, but it's such a fun genre

to write! The suspense and mood

are really cool to create. I also like

writing calm stories, but there is

something about slight horror that

draws me in.

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 8.What genre do you find

most difficult? Why?

Definetley fantasy. The amount of

world building that is involved in

this type of writing is insane.

Fantasy takes a lot of planning,

and whenever I try to write it I

always give up half way through

because something doesn't fit just

right. I have great respect for any

and all fantasy writers!

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 9. Do you write people you

know into your stories?

I used to when I was younger.

These days I try to leave my

friends and family out of my work.

Whenever I do feel the urge to

write about them, it's almost always

about a certain trait of theirs or

something that happened in their

past. Even if it isn't something bad,

I feel like I am intruding their privacy

by including a character like them in

my work. I don't want to ask them

because I feel like it would make the

both of us feel uncomfortable.

᠂࣭.   ⃝༘⃕ :cherries: ↳ 10. What is your favourite

ice cream flavour and does it

affect your writing?

I don't know if this counts as a

flavor, but I like vanilla ice cream

with cinnamon and honey on top.

Does this influence my writing? I

don't really know... I don't know a

lot of people who say vanilla,

cinnamon, and honey is their

favorite ice cream... I guess my

writing is unique and so is my

favorite ice cream?
