Traditional Latin Vespers

Greetings all! I hope you've all been well!

So me and two Catholic friends spent last Sunday travelling across the state photographing churches and old buildings. We ended off the day by travelling to the Massachusetts countryside!

In the countryside there are three neighboring spiritual communities, all Catholic. One is exclusively a group of Nuns dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, one is a group of Benedictine Monks dedicated to the Monastic Rule of Saint Benedict, established by Holy Saint Benedict of Nursia who lived in the fifth century, and one is a group of both Nuns and Monks who worship together yet live in separate dormitories, and work and pray for their lives.

We attended a beautiful Vespers service, in all Latin, atended by several families, the Monks who chanted and celebrated the Liturgy, and the Nuns who sung the responses. Despite me being Orthodox, it was a very beautiful experience, and one I could certainly see myself attending on a weekly basis if it were under the Western Rite of Orthodoxy.
