Mothman (2010) Review

Is an American television horror movie directed by Sheldon Wilson.

Plot:

A group of friends bane together to hide the truth about a mutual friend's tragic death.

This is just an awful movie that I have watched. The story is similar to "I Know What you Did Last Summer" with a couple of friends accidentally killing someone, and something comes from them due to it. I don't know why the filmmakers chose the mothman to be the villain of the movie because it hasn't little to do with the folklore and acts like a generic slasher villain. Even the backstory isn't that flesh-out and rather generic. The movie itself is pretty dull with the creature killing the one who reasonably for the death and the characters trying to figure out how to stop it. It adds nothing new to itself and is rather predictable. Even the twist itself is lousy on what it is. The climax itself is underwhelming, and the ending sucks.

I have nothing to say about the characters because all of them are one-dimensional and lack any likeability to them. Each one of them have a bland personality to them and show no reason why should we root for them. Also, Frank is your local crazy guy who knows about the mothman, but he ends up being a disappointment. And the acting sucks too.

The mothman himself looks really awful with its crappy CGI design and how he looks unconvincing when you first see him. He also somehow can only kill someone if they next to something reflected, but they never explained that very well. Even the death scenes are underwhelming and nothing too interesting.

Mothman is a crappy television horror movie that is best forgotten and not worth your time.
