Today I’m back at it again with another drama deep-dive—and trust me, this one’s a ride.

Let’s be real: the plot screams generic revenge saga. But what pulled me in wasn’t the storyline; it was the cast and their chaotic, beautiful energy.

We’ve got a transgender chef battling discrimination, a Black-Korean bartender constantly fending off racism, an ex-con trying to go straight, and a stone-cold sociopath with a killer fashion sense. It’s a beautifully dysfunctional family and I loved every minute of it.

Now, our leading man—Park Saeroyi—is basically the poster child for moral integrity. The guy is so good, it’s almost irritating. Like, sir, have you ever lied in your life? And his business mantra? “People and trust above all.” Revolutionary, right? He’s the soft capitalist king we didn’t know we needed. And while that haircut screams "chestnut cosplay," his heart's in the right place, and honestly? We stan a righteous king.

Enter stage left: the most insufferable father-son duo in K-drama history. CEO Jang Dae Hee and his smug heir Jang Geun Won. The CEO runs Korea’s biggest restaurant group and has a God complex the size of Seoul Tower. His son? A trust fund brat with a punchable smirk and the emotional depth of a teaspoon. I almost threw my remote several times.

Their vibe? Chaotic evil. Their goal? Crush Saeroyi and anyone he dares to care about. Their method? Corporate warfare with a side of petty. And yes, it’s as dramatic as it sounds.

This show gives us gritty business battles, culinary showdowns, boardroom backstabbing, and love triangles sharp enough to pierce the soul. The backdrop of Itaewon adds a rich cultural flair, and the drama does full justice to its Webtoon roots. Visually? Stunning. Emotionally? A wreck. Me? Obsessed.

Oh, and the OST? Chef’s kiss. Especially Sweet Night by BTS’s V—yes, I cried, and no, I won’t apologize.

Did the ending hit as hard as it should’ve? Not really. It kinda tiptoed around the moral clarity it spent 15 episodes building. Also, that mushroom haircut? Unforgivable. But between the betrayals, the murders, the rooftop heart-to-hearts, and the spicy class warfare? It delivered.

If you’re craving a drama that’s messy, meaningful, and unapologetically bold—Itaewon Class is it. It’s not perfect, but it’s powerful. And if you can survive the chestnut cut, you’re in for a wild, worthwhile ride.
